Time to fire up the flower fridge ☺️♥️ Mother Nature says forget the calendar - spring has sprung!

If I had not grown these two myself I would be convinced they were either not real, or had been dyed. Breathtaking.

I am starting to become overrun with blooms again ✨🌸 so expect us back at the markets in the coming weeks x can’t wait to share some year beauties with you all again.

The first of the daffodils are making an appearance! 🥰♥️ it’s been a warm winter, and signs of spring are already here - buds are swelling on our apple trees, bulbs are starting to burst their blooms. I’ve even been getting fresh picked asparagus for breakfast to go with the eggs that the girls are starting to ramp up on again!

Spring is coming, and she’s going to be a colourful one this year 🌷

It’s really the season of the anemones here at the moment while we patiently wait for the Alstromeria to flower and the bulbs to pop up. Did you know that anemones are beautifully written about in Ancient Greek mythology? They were said to have been brought into existence when Aphrodite’s tears mixed with the blood of her slain lover Adonis and fell to the earth, popping out of the soil where the drops fell.

In English and Irish folk law they were said to be the sleeping place of fairies, as the close over at night to tuck the fairies into bed - this is an amazing skill some flowers have called nyctinasty that relies on the flower’s circadian rhythm and light sensors.

Incredible right? Flowers with a better sleep/wake cycle than most adults 😉

I’m really feeling spoilt by the colour variations in the anemones planted this year 🥰

What a treat some mid winter colour is 🌸♥️
I’m so excited to be able to grace your tables again this week with some freshly cut stock, mock orange and anemones ✨
Pinks and purples are in full show, and my whimsical heart is so delighted by these fairy flowers.

We are still closed for direct orders while awaiting the madness of spring, so make sure you head to the SJ Farmers’ Market coop table this weekend and treat yourself to these very special blooms x

While most flowers in the garden are sleeping, getting themselves ready for a glorious spring show a handful are blooming early, just enough to fill a vase on the table each week and brighten the rainy drizzling days.

I have to say while I’m missing armloads of blooms, and your happy faces as you pick up your orders I’m also very grateful for the rest and the quiet right now.
I’m well into my third trimester with my third baby, two of the Jersey cows are pregnant and life has been so busy lately.

My body and my heart need the rest- just like the garden ♥️

A mystical addition has arrived in the hollow at Serpentine Blooms ✨
I’m so excited to share our new potion kits - perfect for little messy hands and muddy play, made from specially selected spray free non toxic flowers from our farm.
They are all natural, have beautiful colours, textures and shapes, powders that fizz and are ready to delight little minds in their mud kitchens and cubby houses.

A limited amount will be available this weekend at the 🧚‍♀️💫

I really hope they are as loved as much as I love them, my inner 7 year old had a ball dreaming these up, and I dearly hope to keep making them 🧪🔮✨
