Follow me to find Fiction & Friction at the Royal Adelaide Show ✨

🗺️ Start at the Ridley Memorial end of the Food Court and head into the Market Bazaar Pavilion we are on the right side of the room so head to the right.

Be patient of any traffic jams that might occur.

Head past the entry to the Showbag Pavilion, once you are at the trainerhub take a left and just like that you have arrived at your destination.

I hope this helps! I know it can be a maze. I’ve found myself lost a couple times already 😂

Fiction & Friction is in the Market Bazaar Pavilion, right next to the show bags and will be here the whole 9 days.

It’s been a 24hours to say the least ⬇️

👉🏼 Show Prep last night until 10pm
👉🏼 Ended up at the hospital with Constance until midnight
👉🏼 6:30am Wake Up, Load the Car & Trailer
👉🏼 Bunnings Stop
👉🏼 Officeworks Stop
👉🏼 Arrived to the Show and spent 40 minutes trying to work out how we were supposed to park a trailer with no spots
👉🏼 Parked further away which meant it took longer to unload
👉🏼 Spent five hours setting up 🥵
👉🏼 Another Bunnings Trip

We are about to get food and head home where I have to go back to the shop to grab some things and then maybe I can get some sleep 😴

I might nap on the way home because ya girl is barely keeping her eyes open!

Temporarily CLOSED ✨

➡️ This is your reminder that Fiction & Friction is currently CLOSED and will be closed until after the 13th of September, however there is currently no date set because if all my stock sells at the show there might be no point in opening until stock is replenished.

Once the show is over I will reevaluate and let everyone know 💚

💚 Fiction + Friction is six today 💚

And I only remembered when a friend messaged me 🙈

6️⃣ years ago, I took one of the biggest leaps of my life, launching an online bookstore that only stocked independently published romance books - one of the first of its kind anywhere in the world.

6️⃣ years later here I am, taking another huge leap by preparing to shift nearly the whole shop to Adelaide for nine days at the Royal Adelaide Show 😬

Some of you may know that this year has been my most challenging yet, with tough conditions for small businesses colliding with major health issues for me and my daughter. At times, this business has been one of the few things keeping me going. At other times, it has all felt impossible.

What I want to say is how grateful I am for everyone who has supported F+F in year six:

And a special thank you to the friends and family, who’ll be helping me over the show period - maybe you’ll meet them when you come visit me in person from September 5th-13th ✨

I’m honestly pretty overwhelmed and exhausted right now but y’all make it worthwhile. I appreciate you so much.

Business Owner Anniversary ✨

➡️ 7 years ago today I started Off the Book Pages the bookish merch company that evolved into Fiction & Friction which turns 6 on the 31st of this month 😍

➡️ 4 years ago today I got the keys to my first retail space and I truly can’t believe how far everything has come.

Being a business owner gave me a purpose outside of being a single mother with multiple chronic pain diseases who didn’t think she was worthy. I’m still those things, but so so much more and I know my worth now.

I truly can’t thank you all enough for the support over the years. I’ve gone through so many changes in those 7 years and so many of you are still here. I wish I could hug you all.
