It’s COMING fast.

And I wanted to jump in with some updates. What does this mean for the store and what details do I have currently?

First Up ⬇️

Fiction & Friction will be closed for TWO WEEKS in September, open as usual until the 31st of August which is actually F&F’s 6th Birthday 🎂

📆 31st August to the 4th of September is Adelaide Show Prep. This will including packing everything from the shop I’m taking and setting up the booth.

From the 5th to the 13th of September you’ll be able to find Fiction & Friction in the Market Bazaar Hall which is right next to the Show Bags Hall 🙌🏼

➡️ From the 14th of September normal hours will return!

What does this mean for the store over the next few weeks?

🧡 You might notice some things missing from the shelves. This is an attempt to pre pack what can be packed.

🩵 Limited new stock. Stock is being prepared for the show but some is still going out on the shelves!

🧡 No Blind Dates—all blind dates are being banked up for the show!

🩵 Please don’t let that deter you from coming in. There is still plenty of stock and some new things come through.

✨ Rent still needs to be paid so it’s business as usual as much as possible just a lot of prep going on behind the scenes. I can’t wait to show you all what I’ve been working on.

I’ve made 100’s of Ribbon Bookmarks and 100’s of USB Dust Plugs. I’ve got some other handmade items making a come back from my merch days. 3D Printed Items. Show Bags with Exclusive Books. Totes. Zipper Pouches. Plus so much more!

Well, HELLO 🙋🏼‍♀️

Let me reintroduce everyone to Fiction & Friction after our post gained a fair bit of traction yesterday 😂

Fiction & Friction is a Romance Bookstore specialising in Independently Published books located in Murray Bridge, South Australia just an hour from Adelaide ✨

➡️ Next month—August 31st—Fiction & Friction turns 6 years old 😍

➡️ F&F is owned and run by a chronically ill, q***r woman, who happens to be single mum to a chronically ill teenager. I did not mean to pass those genes 🧬 on but alas 😅

➡️ I’ve been building a safe space for romance readers in my community since I opened my first Brick & Mortar store four years ago and I love the community I’ve got surrounding me.

➡️ F&F is actually preparing for The Royal Adelaide Show this year which is amazing but super busy times!

➡️ If I’m not working, you’ll almost always find me reading or listening to a book.

➡️ While is not always this wild over here it’s definitely interesting more often than not. So thanks your joining me for the ride if you’re new, I appreciate you 💙

It’s that time of the year ✨

➡️ For the last four years my birthday has been on a day that the shop is open and I usually do a sale to celebrate. But this year the shop is closed on my birthday 🎂

I don’t need gifts but if you’re able and have been eyeing something off I’d love you to place an order online or come see me in-store this week.

That’s the best present for a business owner, a busy and productive week followed by a day off for my actual birthday—we will see if I actually take the day off 😂👏🏼

➡️ I’m very much in survival mode over here. Constance is super unwell and so am I but we are taking it day by day and even though I’ve been in the worst place lately I want you all to know that you keep me going! We are coming up to 6 years sine F&F opened and I don’t know where I would be without it ❤️
