“Stargazing”
The Narrabri Portrait Prize Finalist 2026
This painting is not just a portrait of my Daughter, it’s a snapshot of a time. It’s Ebony in a moment in her life just before she became a big sister, before her entire world changed.
I really enjoyed the process of painting this one, because I was heavily pregnant and short on time I was able to be much more free with the paint. It was what I needed in that moment of my life.
The brief was to paint a local legend. Even though Ebbie is only two years old, but she has already become part of the community. She has helped fundraise for the dpilnarrabrishire, she is a regular in the local arts community and been to many art exhibitions. I have no doubt that Ebony will go far.
I’m so proud to be her Mum. I get to watch her grow and explore her world, to watch her grow and be confident in herself. I will always continue to create her portraits 🤍
