Trikfish Spinnerbaits

Trikfish Spinnerbaits Quality Australian made spinnerbaits The range of baits available then didn’t fill our requirements as most were American bass lures.

Trikfish came into being in 2005 after we had been tournament style fishing for four years and club competition fishing for a lot longer. The need to customize baits for our own use became too much. The next step was obvious:- let’s make our own. Now we could experiment all we wanted. The rest as they say “is history”
Trikfish remains committed to quality components and is always experimenting with new colours and designs.

Get ready Victoria - Codlands here we come! 🤩🐟

We've got BIG plans for Rocklands Reservoir, with 200,000 Murray cod stocked today, contributing to 500,000 this season.

That's not all - we'll also be stocking 500,000 yellas into Rocklands in the coming months.

We began stocking Rocklands with cod and yellas in 2017 and fishers have already reported encouraging results including fish of legal size.

It's going to be a cracker fishery for future generations. Watch this space!

We’ve cracked three million fish stocked, and got the foot to the floor, accelerating towards our record-breaking goal of stocking 10 million fish by April 2022!

Milestones of four and five million will tumble fast because the native fish stocking season is underway. The bass are in the water, the cod have started and the yellas, silvers, Maccas and trout cod are lining up.

It’s all thanks to your fishing licence fees and the State Government’s $35 million Go Fishing Victoria plan to get more people fishing, more often.

And if you’re wetting a line soon and wondering which lake or river to try, check out our online stocking database. It’s easy to use and really helps plan a trip - www.vfa.vic.gov.au/db.

If you buy a Victorian recreational fishing licence then you’re helping fund the stocking of 400,000 Aussie bass this season!

250,000 of those were released last week and another 122,000 fingerlings are going into 5 waters today:

🐟 50,000 – Blue Rock Lake
🐟 40,000 – Mitchell River
🐟 20,000 – Timbarra River
🐟 10,000 - Tambo River
🐟 2,000 - Tyers River

Over the past 15 years we’ve stocked more than 2.1 million bass, mostly into Gippsland’s rivers and lakes. Now that’s pumping up the bass!

Plenty of those fish have grown to be over a kilo, some two, and they’re providing great fishing for locals and visitors, from the shore and from canoes, kayaks and tinnies. 🎣

This season’s 400,000 bass are all part of our mammoth effort to stock a record 10 million fish across the state by April 2022.

Good news for Victoria’s north west! 🌈🎣

Thanks to your fishing licence fees, the colourful Wimmera town of Rainbow is getting a new fishing spot.

A few years back, locals began dreaming up a plan to repurpose a decommissioned water reservoir as a recreational lake for fishing, kayaking and swimming.

The Rainbow Lake Committee has leased the site off the council, and now work’s started to transform the reservoir into a thriving recreational fishing lake.

It’s a very similar story up the road at Yaapeet, where GWM Water has already connected the pipeline, and we’ve stocked silver perch, with more to come this summer.

Who knows, maybe one day there’ll be a pot of golden perch at the end of this Rainbow!

If you’ve got a great idea for a project to make a difference to the fishing in your back yard, our Large and Intermediate Grants Programs are now open.

Waranga Basin’s recreational fishery is about to get even better thanks to a new fish habitat project funded by your fishing licence fees.

The project will be managed by the Goulburn Valley Association of Angling Clubs and see customised fish habitat placed into the Basin at several locations to provide new homes or freshwater fish, particularly yellas (golden perch).

The Victorian Fisheries Authority is coming to the party for the waterway with a release of 100,000 yella fingerlings this coming summer as part of its record breaking stocking effort of 10 million fish by April 2022.

Waranga Basin is best known as a redfin fishery with a few good brown trout occasionally caught in the cooler months. The addition of yellas to the mix will add seasonal diversity to the fishery and the chance at a trophy catch because golden perch are known to reach 6kg+ and 60cm in several northern Victorian lakes.
