Happy 6th birthday Miss Arthur! Actually, we missed her birthday and are a few days late. Ooops. I’m sure she won’t mind. She’s been busy, as have we. It was this time 6 years ago that we had transformed not the prettiest of buildings on our street into the lovely Miss Arthur. Stripped her from her ugly awning and aluminum additions, and reinstated a bespoke wood shopfront and windows. Peeled off the paint from the convict bricks to allow her to breathe again. Commissioned a local sign-writer to hand letter her name across the front. And then, we took a deep breath and opened her doors for the first time to show everyone what we could see. A beautiful old shop waiting for new life.
And she has rewarded us time and time again with her bones and warmth, welcoming all who visit with all-round good vibes. We are lucky to have found her, when she was waiting right next door all those years for us to finally see her.
