Gould's Book Arcade "NOTHING HUMAN IS ALIEN TO ME" - a quote (from Roman playwright Terence) that Bob Gould often used to sum up the range of material that we have available.

Bob Gould was a Sydney bookseller for more than thirty-five years, at a number of locations. The current shop has been in Newtown since 1988. Gould's Book Arcade specialises in out of print books, publishers remainders of the last 30 years, and second hand books, catering to the general reader, students and some specialist areas. Australian history and politics and Australiana are the main special

ty areas. The collection on labor movement and left-wing politics is the broadest in Australia, and stands up well by international standards, covering Australia but also other countries. The Art collection contains thousands of books. There are big sections on Military History, Poetry, Plays, Fiction, Movies, Science, Philosophy, and all areas of human interest and endeavour. We also stock an extensive range of vinyl records and compact discs. A visit to the shop would be worthwhile, as many titles will probably never be listed on-line. The shop is about 5 km from the Sydney Opera House, located on King St, Newtown, near the University of Sydney, and is open late seven days.

The Gould's family regret to announce that we will be closing our doors after tonight and will not reopen until it is safe to do so.

In the meantime we will be attempting to move more of our books online and would appreciate your continued support in these uncertain times.

for now Gould's Bookshop will remain open with the reduced hours of 12-7:30pm each day.

We ask that customers please remain 2m apart from staff and other shoppers and use card for transactions where possible.
