Today, we honour the many faces of Motherhood.
To the mothers who carried children in their womb…
The mothers who carried children in their hearts…
The grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, adopted mothers, and soul mothers…
The mothers who nurture others through kindness, wisdom, presence and love…
We see you.
We also hold space for those who longed to be mothers but could not be…
Those who have lost children…
Those separated by distance, time, or circumstance…
Those navigating complicated relationships with their mothers or children…
And yes, even for those who were not able to mother gently or lovingly because of their own pain, wounds, or unhealed stories.
Motherhood is not always simple.
It is layered with beauty, sacrifice, learning, grief, tenderness, growth, and humanity.
And for those carrying hurt connected to their mother, may today also be a gentle invitation toward peace. Not necessarily forgetting what was, but perhaps slowly loosening the weight it still holds within you.
