A huge moment for the campaign.

The Country Women’s Association (CWA) has officially endorsed the proposed Richmond River Koala Parks, with a motion from the Nimbin branch passed at the recent NSW State Conference.

The motion calls for the establishment of the Richmond River Koala Parks reserve across State Public Native Forests in the Richmond Valley and southern Richmond Range, to provide safe haven for vulnerable and endangered native flora and fauna so their populations can recover and thrive.

This endorsement matters.
The CWA is one of NSW's most respected regional organisations, with deep roots in rural communities. Their support sends a powerful message: protecting these forests is not a fringe issue — it is a community priority.

And this comes at a critical time.
Right now, the NSW Government is considering extending Wood Supply Agreements that could lock in native forest logging for another 10 years, potentially until 2038. Decisions are being made now that will shape the future of these forests, our koalas, our wildlife and our catchments for generations.

To keep that momentum going, the most important thing you can do right now is contact your local member and make your support for the Richmond River Koala Parks clear.

Join us for a terrific lunch tomorrow at the CWA rooms next to the Rural Fire Brigade in the Community Centre. There will be ham/cheese/tomato toasties with salad for $5 plus a choice of 2 beautiful home-made gluten-free cakes. Have a look at the winter items in the op shop too. Some very affordable items to be found.

It's toastie day today at the Nimbin CWA rooms. $5 for a ham cheese and tomato toastie. Come along and enjoy. We also have a gluten free banana cake with cream cheese icing. Plenty of home made jams and chutneys available too.

Primex 2026 was a fabulous event with CWA branches from our whole area coming together to raise money for our annual Eduction Grants.
Well done everyone and big thank you to our Nimbin Ladies for stepping up for multiple shifts.
Thank you to the CWA Primex Committee for all the hard work put into organising it’s no small feat💙

CWA Far North Coast Group will be running a cafe at Primex in Lismore over the next 3 days to raise money for our education grants.
Nimbin branch will be there doing our bit so if you are in Lismore come along and support us all so we can support the kids 💙💙💙

Join us for a terrific lunch at the CWA rooms next to the Rural Fire Brigade in the Community Centre for a delicious lunch. Lunch tomorrow is a corn and broccoli quiche for $5 and there are also pineapple and coconut cup cakes plus mango coconut gluten-free cake. All made by members. Lunch is available from 10 till 2. While you are there check out the delicious jams and chutneys available at reasonable prices as well as the only op shop in the village.
