🔥 Weekly Roundup 🔥
Warmer summer conditions have started to settle in this week, with fishing in the river and offshore heating up!
Anglers in the river have been catching a range of species including Jewfish, Flathead and Whiting. Jewfish have been caught on soft plastic and hardbody lures while the Flathead and Whiting have been caught on live baits, soft plastics and beach worms. Summer species in the river are also firing up, with Tarpon and Mangrove Jack being found both during the day and at night. Large paddle tail soft plastics or hardbody lures such as our Lucky Craft Pointer 100XD are the lures of choice for Jacks sitting on rock edges, while live baits are also producing fish.
The inshore reefs are still producing consistent table fish, with reports of Pearlies, Snapper and Hussar being on the chew. Further out on the banks and hards some big Kingfish have been providing some good fighting fun for anglers and plenty of schooling Cobia have also been showing up.
⚠️ We have one of the more treacherous bars on the coast so no matter the conditions, respect the bar and be aware of the conditions at all times. There have been some close calls over the last week and a rollover, which thankfully ended with everyone being ok. Don’t just look at the wave in front of you - look at what’s 2-3 behind it. And always make sure you’ve got life jackets on when heading out. It only takes a split second for things to go sideways.
Stay safe everyone!!!
