The Object Merchant curation doesn’t end at objects. Above all, it’s about bringing people and ideas together.

Our Opening Ceremony boasts a one-time-only collaboration. Hypnotic and percussive Birdsnake meets the mesmerising vocals of Mira Lu Kovacs, the brain bending dance stylings of Lucy Eidelson, our highly anticipated LIVE RUNWAY and a very special secret surprise AV element that we don’t want to spoil.

Killakilla.ink creates lucky charms and ornate wearables. She explores the idea of ever embellishing the body to embody one’s highest self.
She will be tattooing flash designs throughout the duration of the event.
She will also be bringing her shop with merch, and her line of press on nails. 

CHUNKi is a Melbourne-based tooth gem artist with 5 years of experience as a dental hygienist, bringing safe, stylish and sparkly smiles to life 🦷🪽

She will be offering tooth gem applications throughout the event at special market prices.

CHUNKi will also be bringing her signature CHUNKi necklaces and custom shoe charms available for purchase on the day.

Appointments and walk-ins welcome.

Mata is a Melbourne-based doodle tattoo artist known for her playful and expressive designs.

She will be offering live doodle-style nail tattoos directly on natural nails, as well as body tattoos throughout the event.

Flash designs will be available, with bookings and walk-ins welcome.

CHUNKi and Mata come together to bring sparkle and ink — a playful fusion of tooth gems and doodle tattoos.

SO EXCITING SEEING OUR POSTERS IN A0 !
FEELS LIKE THE REAL DEAL

The posters we create set the tone for how we approach the event. This year our aim was to inspire awe at the proficiency of skilled hands.

Six distinct still life images meticulously crafted from the composite crafts of different disciplines represented at Object Merchant – ceramic, jewellery, fashion, art, food and music.

These images were created without the use of AI or excessive retouching. Just hours in the studio playing, inching towards our desired outcome.

Welcoming our headlining band who will be playing with international artist

Birdsnake’s sound can be described as psychedelic-fused down-tempo electronica. The four piece create transportive textural moments, always trusting the groove and exploring the line between electronic and organic.

While Mira’s vocals might be delicate and serene, her lyrics don’t hold anything back - from darker introspective thoughts to lurching accusatory demands.

There’s only one chance to see what they create together
