Choosing your Baum is only half the equation. Paint is where the really fun begins.

With over 25 stand schemes, 65 standard colours, fades, raw titanium and a near endless world of custom options, things can get interesting quickly.

Every frame is painted in-house and masked by hand. No decals used. No shortcuts taken. Just an irrational level of attention to detail.

We have a few rules. We are Baum after all. But within those rules, we bring your ideas to life.

Were you blown away when you first saw the photos of our stunning 7-Eleven-inspired Orbis, but never thought you’d get to appreciate the details in person?

Above Category has kindly allowed us to showcase bike through the Builder’s Lounge at MADE this weekend.

We are quite sad we won’t be there in person to talk all things bikes but if this build catches your attention, we’d love to hear from you! Simply scan the QR code on the information card or send us a message to arrange a time to connect and potentially talk through your dream build in more detail.

Special thanks goes out to Billy (Billy Sinkford) for organising the Builder’s Lounge for this year’s show. 🫶

Science of Speed.

The new DURA-ACE wheelset reflects five years of focused refinement and delivers the trusted performance that wins races.

Each purpose-built wheel delivers balanced race performance with newly engineered carbon-spoke designs that balance stiffness, lightness, and aerodynamics.

An evolved cup-and-cone bearing system delivers the smoothness, reliability, and serviceability racers rely on.

We know the devil is in the details. It is why we do, what we do.

When bringing your ideas to life, everything is considered and no stone is left unturned.

When a long time customers return for their next Baum, the challenge is never just meeting expectations, it’s exceeding them.

The new 32-inch wheel platform certainly helped us deliver on that but what truly elevated this build was the collection of components chosen to support it.

From the full titanium rigid fork to the now rare Chris King singlespeed hubs, along with everything else from brands that have been crafting exceptional titanium components.

Every part was selected for how it contributes to the bike as a complete object. The result is a build that appears understated at first glance, until the details begin to reveal themselves.

The XTM sits between the versatile Orbis X and the off-road-focused DBM, bridging the gap in our gravel lineup. We think of this category as gravel plus, a bike equipped to handle a heavier dose of rough terrain without completely giving up its road-going manners.

The frame shares the same butted titanium tubing, chainstays, and hub spacing as the rest of the Orbis family, but is purpose-built for 1x drivetrains. A 3D-printed chain stay yoke and curved seat tube provide clearance for tyres up to 63 mm. Measured, not labelled.

While the paintwork may be what first catches your eye, the XTM’s real strength lies in its versatility.
Fast enough for ch*****ne gravel races, capable enough for any epic gravel adventure, and engineered to thrive on the terrain in between, it’s a bike designed for riders who refuse to let the route dictate the experience.

When Chad from Above Category, our US partner for the past 15 years, came to us with his next project, we already knew it was going to be a remarkable build.

Campagnolo, ENVE, Chris King, Challenge Tyres (specifically gumwall, of course) and Busyman came through. And then, at the centre of it all, something truly special: a nearly 40-year-old team-issued skinsuit worn by one of cycling’s biggest names of the ’80s, delivered in a plastic bag with a handwritten note that read, “You have Phil, we have Bob (Roll).”

For those familiar with professional cycling in the ’80s, the 7-Eleven team needs no introduction. The team is remembered for many reasons: the first US team to race in Europe, a talented roster of North American riders, and Andy Hampsten’s Giro d’Italia triumph in 1988. But it is its iconic red, emerald, and white livery that is arguably the most recognisable and enduring of them all.

This build will be on display all weekend at SPOKEN in Sydney. If you can make it, we look forward to seeing you there!

A year ago, we built our first 32-inch gravel bike and pointed it straight at the roughest terrain we could find. What started as an experiment quickly proved itself. The larger wheel size delivered improved rollover, increased stability, and an unmistakable ability to carry speed through technical terrain.

For his latest DBM, Darren has taken the concept in a different direction.

Lower. Longer. Faster.

Built around the same 32-inch wheel size but this time utilising Berd Spokes for subtle dampening, this bike has been refined for racing. Geometry has been tailored to higher speeds, narrower handlebars and a more aggressive riding position. All resulting in different interpretation of what a big-wheeled gravel bike can be.

Unfortunately it’s not for everyone. But for the right rider, 32 inch wheels open up possibilities that simply don’t exist with smaller wheels.

Once again, Baum will be making the trip to sydney for SPOKEN this year.

SPOKEN represents far more than just a bike show for us. It’s a gathering of builders, designers and riders who have a shared appreciation for the craftsmanship, the engineering and the details that make these two wheeled machines so special.

We’re already looking forward to reconnecting with the familiar faces, meeting new ones, and sharing a closer look at what we’ve been working on over the past year.

Tickets on sale through the SPOKEN website. See you there!
