Get behind small business and please support Cakes By Rach Cafe
Hey everyone it’s time for an update on our situation with the Council.
As everyone knows we’ve been working closely with Wollongong Council for the last 12 months, after receiving the Order to Close last year. I have been very transparent with the Council in saying that I am happy to work with them to undertake whatever is required to resolve the issues. I was provided options by the Council to “seek additional permitted use”, which I have actively engaged.
Unfortunately during a meeting with the Council last week they informed me that they didn’t see a point in me going any further because they don’t see our Cafe as being strategically placed in Port Kembla and we aren’t endorsed by the council as a strategic part of Port Kembla. They also informed me that they will be reinstating the Close Order for our Cafe.
I informed them that I have no intention of rolling over and I believe the 8000+ signatures and overwhelming support by the Community in fact confirms we are an important part of Port Kembla. I want everyone to know that I have every intention of fighting incredibly hard, not only for Kobey and I, but for our sensational team at Cakes By Rach and for the amazing Community we have been accepted into!
In the days and weeks ahead I may need to ask for specific help but for right now can I ask you to get noisy!! Share, repost, like and comment on this post as much as possible and feel free to let the Council know your opinion….we love what we do and we want to keep being part of Port Kembla for a lot of years to come.
