Today I photographed the matching set of swimbait rods I've been building whilst recovering from ankle surgery. The extra time taken to build them has obviously paid off. I'm super happy with them. Monduran Barra rods.

I finally finished this beast of a rod. It's a Samurai NV 6-2 10-15kg built for Cod and impoundment Barra. Fuji SicCarbide guide train, hand built cork grips, Speed trims, Dragon Scale in Fuiji Poly Prisma motor oil, feather inlays and crosswrap. Hopefully off to its new home this week.

Trish and I enjoyed a hassle free awesome surface session on the local this morning. Bass, Bream and Estuary Perch all wanting our Tiemco Soft Shell cicadas with a nice 44cm Bass being the best for the session. We had a hookup rate of maybe 50% to the number of strikes. Twitch, twitch.....pause....boof! Great fun.

Whoever came up with this saying was obviously a rodbuilder working with cork. All cuts and dry fitting completed in prior preparation for an upcoming build. I had an idea I had to get out of my head. Now, preparing to get high on the wood glue as I glue and clamp these.

An early morning session on the Shoalhaven with Big E. We started early to beat the Doof Doof crowd and the heat. We were rewarded by an awesome topwater session with Bass, EPs and Bream on cicada lures. All finished by 9am as the blood pressure started to rise! 😉🤣

Hi everyone. I'm announcing that the 2025 Forge Through auction Rod has finished. The final bid of $1000 is the winning bid and very much appreciated. The winning bidder has requested to remain silent. The money raised goes to the Forge Through Foundation and will be used to assist with programs for ex Defence Force personnel and First Responders experiencing the affects of trauma. Thanks to all of those who bidded or commented.
