Community is always on my mind
It is a living organism. Dynamic, growing, changing, with its mycelial networks reaching deep into the hearts of one another.
Some times we can feel so held and seen in community, and some times it can be the very thing that breaks our hearts.
Though, to love is to risk heart break, and what is the point if we aren't daring to love and be broken open? I can almost hear a dear friend Fio whisper that into my ear...
Accountability, justice, kindness, compassion. These are also deeply important as well. It is hard to thrive in a community if you don't feel safe and cared for in it.
So lately I have been thinking about community. What it tangibly is and how that is different in the various communities I am apart of. How I show up, feed and nourish it. How I potentially harm it or my relationships within it. What it is I desire from it and why I show up.
I know in my communities I am held, in love and complexity and so many things. By the people, the spirits, our oaths and the effort we put in for one another. Being in right relationship takes work, often a lot of internal work. For me, I strive to hold kindness, and it always comes back to Truth, Wisdom and Love for me; and I see the same in so many loved ones of mine.
