🎣🔥 ANOTHER FIRST FOR MDM COD CANDY! 🔥🎣

What. A. Session. 👊

We’ve now landed our first known Australian Eel-Tailed Catfish caught using an MDM COD CANDY & worm combo — and it capped off an absolute cracker of a day on the water!

The session started hot with 3 Yellowbelly, the biggest stretching the tape to a very healthy 48cm 💛

Then came 3 Carp — all removed from the system — plus another 7 dropped fish throughout the session. We know at least 3 of those were carp… the others? We’ll never know! 😅

But right at the end, something a little different decided to play ball…

🐟 An elusive Australian Eel-Tailed Catfish!

Another species added to the growing list of fish taking a liking to MDM COD CANDY.

And the best part? We shared the session with Brayden — the purchaser of our 100th bottle!

Last week, we helped Brayden land his FIRST Murray Cod.

This week, we helped him land his FIRST Yellowbelly.

For the past month, MDM BAITS × OUTBACK PLASTICS have been working behind the scenes on a new project we’re seriously excited about.

🎣 5 NEW LURES.
🇦🇺 Designed with Aussie fishing in mind.
🔥 Built to be different.

The first test mould is complete and early testing is now underway.

So far, the initial results have been very promising — but we’re only getting started. 👀

There’s still plenty more testing, refining and time on the water ahead before we’re ready to put the MDM BAITS × Outback Plastics names on the finished products.

We want these lures to be something we’re both genuinely proud to release to the fisho community — and we won’t rush development just to meet a date.

But without giving too much away just yet… 🤫

We believe this concept has the potential to bring something genuinely different to the Australian lure market — particularly for inland fishing.

And yes… there’s a reason there’s a giant ❓ in the photo.

The lures — and what makes them different — are staying under wraps for now. 🔒🎣

Our goal is to have the full 5-lure range ready around the opening of the 2026/2027 Murray Cod season on December 1st — provided testing tells us they’re ready.

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more of the development journey, more testing and eventually…
