1984 Honda CR500 — pre-restoration start up.

Before the teardown begins, we wanted to capture the bike exactly as it arrived and hear it run one last time in original unrestored form.

This one is heading into a full Garage Eleven restoration, with the focus on preserving the character, details and presence that made Honda’s early open-class machines so iconic.

A proper piece of motocross history, about to begin its next chapter.

When does an old race bike become worth preserving?

2006 KX450F.

We've already spent around 6× its purchase price recreating the original KHI triple clamps in magnesium — and that's before you get to the incredible hubs, coated fork tubes and suspension built with fluids.

Financially sensible? Absolutely not.

But these are the bikes that are becoming the next generation of motocross history.

Twenty years ago, this was just a race bike.

Now we're restoring it like it matters.

Look what just landed in the workshop. 👀
A 1998 CR125, fully restored with a HEAP of NOS parts — and it is absolutely mint. 📦
Let's be honest, the late 90s CRs were some of the best looking bikes ever made. That red on the alloy frame, the fluro decals, the whole package just screamed factory. Honda absolutely nailed the styling.

But these bikes copped a bad rap — and here's why. '98 was the first year the CR125 got the alloy twin-spar frame, and that early gen chassis was STIFF. Riders complained it was harsh, deflected off everything, and the 125 motor was never the strongest in its class down low. So the bike got labelled hard to ride. ⚙️

The truth? Set up right, with the right suspension work, they're an incredible bike — and seeing one restored to this level with genuine NOS parts is something special. 💯
