I feel like I’ve spent the entire morning going backwards… but sometimes that’s part of creating!

I’ve been carefully unpicking fabric from a project that didn’t quite work out as planned. Rather than letting such beautiful fabric sit unused, I’m getting it ready to be repurposed and given a completely new life.

Now I have approximately 47 ideas running through my head and absolutely no idea where to start! 😂

At the moment, I’m thinking zipper pouches or glasses cases—but that could change before I even finish my coffee. ☕️

Homegrown Parkes was a success—and one special bag found her person! 💙🌼

Thank you so much to everyone who came out and visited my stall on Saturday. It was such a glorious day—the sun was shining and it was definitely a little warmer than I expected, lol! ☀️

I had plenty of lovely conversations, quite a few laughs, and some of my handmade pieces found their new homes.

Does anyone remember the blue daisy tote bag I made from a repurposed tablecloth?

Well, she found her new person! A girl walked past, immediately pointed to it and said:

“I want that one! We can go and look at the rest of the stalls, but I’m coming back for that right there—it’s coming home with me!”

And she did! 🥰

That is one of my favourite things about creating unique pieces from repurposed and limited fabrics. Sometimes the right person sees something and instantly knows it was made for them.

Quiet online definitely hasn’t meant quiet behind the scenes! 🧵

With Homegrown Parkes coming up this Saturday, my sewing table has been completely taken over by colour, clips, labels and lots of nearly finished pieces.

I’ve been working through wristlets, scrunchies, face scrubbies, jar openers and plenty of other colourful handmade goodies—getting everything finished and ready for my market stall.

There are still threads to trim, hardware to attach and a whole lot of organising to do, but it’s lovely seeing everything come together! 💕

You’ll find me at Homegrown Parkes this Saturday, 12 September, from 10am - 2pm

I’ve been a little quiet here over the past few days because I’ve been out on the road with the Parkes Tractor Trekkers 🚜💙

It has been an extremely busy and very full four days, so I’m giving myself a little time to rest and recover before jumping back behind the sewing machine.

I’ll be back into all things By Danica Rose from Wednesday—fuelled by plenty of coffee and ready to start creating again! ☕🧵💕

Look what I made! 😍🧵

I’m sooo happy with how my new market banner has turned out!

I had this vision in my head of creating the By Danica Rose name using a mix of all my colourful fabrics—and I’ve actually brought it to life.

Every letter is different, bright and full of personality, which feels like the perfect way to represent what I create.

You’ll be able to see it hanging behind my stall at Homegrown Parkes on Saturday 12 September! 💐

I finally did it!!!
I made something for myself, something that is useful and it is VERY much me. A lil chaotic, a lil messy.
She definitely doesn’t follow the rules or a pattern but I had a vision in my head and I made it happen and I’m so very happy with the outcome.

Should I make more laptop cases?

I’m working on a special handmade Father’s Day present, so I can’t show you too much just yet—but it feels good to be back at the sewing machine and creating something personal.
