‘Inner Calm’, 18k gold and 925 silver is currently part of What Lies Beneath exhibition at Windowsmiths Gallery, Potts Point.

So happy to be a part of this exhibition alongside so many fabulous contemporary makers.
Hats off to Fiona Meller and crew for such a great opening night in the newly relocated gallery. Here Fiona showcases single works drawn from each maker’s own collection — pieces that have been boxed away, hidden, and quietly waiting to be seen again.

My work ‘Inner Calm’ captures the simple joy of morning swims, where the quiet rhythm of repetition becomes a meditation in motion. Regardless of the ocean state — be that glassy and still, choppy, surging with restless force — the ritual remains unchanged. Distractions recede, and a stable, centered inner calm exists.

Over the years people ask, “Why Onyx and Flame?”
“Onyx is my street name,” I say.
“Ohhh, like what people call you on the streets? Your tag?”
No 😭 I mean it is literally my street name. The one the postie uses to deliver my mail — the one that sends the dog crazy every time.
No secret graffiti alter ego. No midnight spray paint sessions. No dramatic rooftop escapes.
Plot twist though… I’m moving 👀
But I think I’m keeping Onyx for now. Some street names stick — even when you don’t live on them anymore. 🖤✨ -

Reticulating of silver.
Creating texture that is formed by heat, guided by a more direct flame. There’s control, yes, but silver always has a mind of its own. I love this process🔥-
