My gorgeous ZIBA girls. Well today’s the day my beautiful little ZIBA shop closes. After a successful but rollercoaster of a ride with 10 years trading in 3 seperate locations, the time has come where the bricks and mortar side of our business will end. With the dramatic decline of foot traffic, the road being closed for months from water works and with the immense stress mentally, emotionally and financially that Covid created for our micro business, it is no longer the direction our business wishes to, or can go forward with. This has been one of the hardest decisions to make as I feel it is the end of an era- I have made some of the most beautiful friendships in our little shop, from the Landsdale days, the darch days right through to the Inglewood days too. There have been countless amounts of laughs, stories shared, hundreds of coffees and meals enjoyed while finding you all the perfect outfit for your special occasions or just because! There have been tears, losses and a community built that I have been and always will be so eternally grateful for. ZIBA has always been about the “how can I help you” mentality and will continue to be that with at our salon and with our brand and although our physical store will be no longer, I am always just a message away. I can’t say we will never do fashion again- it’s part of who I am in my soul- but a tiny break from retailing in the current ever changing industry is needed. What I can encourage you all to do is PLEASE support local small business. I know how easy it is to now buy online direct from manufacturers offshore but please I genuinely encourage you all to think of shopping local first. There have been hundreds of small business like ours closed post Covid and that unfortunately is set to continue with the rise of offshore manufacturers selling direct to consumer rather than small retailers. The Perth fashion industry doesn’t need to crumble, it just needs support locally. I will keep this page as a fashion blog and will be using it to promote other amazing small local WA bricks and mortar business so please keep following along to see how the journey ahead goes.
