**UPDATE**

Hi everyone 👋🏻

Monster pillowcases are still bringing smiles to children in hospitals and foster care all over Australia🏥 ⭐ . Before closing the Monster Smiles website, I made sure the hospitals were stocked up with plenty of pillowcases, and I still receive thank-you letters and photos that absolutely make my day. 😊♥

Pictured are Wendy and Lynne the volunteers at Ronald McDonald House Canberra who hand out the pillowcases on the Wrapped in Love trolley💗🛒. Another letter was from Andrew and he is taking the monsters on an adventure to New York and Disneyland!💼

Jesse and I are really enjoying our barber apprenticeships💈✂ and we couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Even though I am focused on my apprenticeship, I’m still donating pillowcases to children🧒🏻 who need a smile🙂 . Once I finish my apprenticeship, I plan to restart Monster Smiles properly again with a website – I really miss packing up pillowcases and sending them off to the children in hospitals and foster care.

Hi everyone

I just wanted to share a quick update. Pillowcases are still being handed out in hospitals, Ronald McDonald houses and foster care. I’ve received some wonderful photos and messages from staff and families. Even though Monster Smiles has closed the Monsters are still spreading their magic.

I really miss creating smiles for children that are in need of one. I have been offered an embroidery machine so that I could personalise names on pillowcases which could help encourage sales if I recommenced Monster Smiles.

A recent message received
“Hi, we just stayed at Ronald McDonald house having lots of hard tests and we received one of your pillow cases. We just wanted to say a big thank you as it was such a highlight for us. we appreciate it so much and brought smiles to all our faces.”

At the moment my Crohn's Disease is stable. Jesse and I train nearly every day at the gym and playing basketball with friends. Jesse and I are also enjoying our barber apprenticeships and we work with very talented stylists.

Thank you everyone for still following my page, one day I will definitely recommence creating Monster Smiles. 🙂

A FINAL THANK YOU FROM MONSTER SMILES ♥

As you know, Monster Smiles is closing next week. I want to say a FINAL THANK YOU 🙏🏻for all the amazing support. 🎉We're thrilled to announce that today we posted 550 Monster Smiles pillowcases to Ronald McDonald Houses in Canberra, Orange, Townsville, Monash, Parkville, Adelaide, Westmead, South Brisbane, Hobart, Perth and Royal Darwin Hospital. 👏

We are committed to finding a way to keep Monster Smiles alive. We've poured our hearts into Monster Smiles and somehow, we'll find a way to carry on our mission. Our prices will remain unchanged at $12, or just $7 to donate a pillowcase.

10,000 pillowcases!

Recently Monster Smiles was featured in That's Life magazine! I was hoping to make a big impact and raise awareness about Monster Smiles aiming to bring more smiles to children in hospitals and foster care. While the response wasn't quite what I expected, with only 4 sales, it's still progress! Every bit counts, right?

On a personal note, I'm grateful to share that my Crohn's Disease is stable these days. It's been quite a journey, but I've found a routine that works for me. The gym has been a game-changer, along with identifying and eliminating foods my body is sensitive to. Thanks to a hair analysis test, I was able to pinpoint these foods - it's amazing what modern science can do!

Now, here's the real highlight: Since Monster Smiles began in 2021, Monster Smiles has donated a whopping 10,000 pillowcases to children in hospitals and foster care! I have always reinvested any profits into creating more smiles.

I've hustled in every way imaginable - from appearing on Telethon and Sunrise Channel 7 to serving as an ambassador for Crohn's & Colitis. In 2022, I even won the Local Champion award! From selling online, at markets, to recycling cans and bottles, selling chocolates and unique-named seedlings, to recycling council verge collection items and selling them online, and even dealing with scrap metal, I've kept myself busy!

Thanks to each and every one of you who've supported this journey. Together, we're making a difference, one smile at a time. Let's keep spreading those Monster Smiles!

Today I received an email from the Manager at Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation in Adelaide thanking me for the huge donation of pillowcases.

The pillowcases will be distributed amongst the wards, the Gastroenterology Unit, the WCH Chronic Pain service, the paediatric ward at Flinders Hospital and Lyell McEwin Hospital.

Next week I should be in That’s Life magazine in The Volunteer of the Week section. I have no idea what photos have been used so that will be a surprise. I sent a large amount of photos and I know they were choosing 3 to use.

600 pillowcases are packed and waiting at the front door to be collected tomorrow.

Pillowcases will be on the way to Canberra, Adelaide and the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. The Starlight Captains will visit the sick children on the Wards and hand the monsters out.

Someone asked “How long did it take to pack them?” My guess is at least 50 hours when I roughly calculated how long it takes per pillowcase to inspect, fold, pack and sticker.

A BIG thank you to everyone that has helped me. I couldn’t do this without you all. A special thank you to Kay & Roger for fundraising at their Christmas Lights display and donating 400 pillowcases.

Today I was at Perth Children’s Hospital for an IV infusion.

I took pillowcases and handed them out to children all over the hospital. Wow! What a difference these little monsters made. The excitement and disbelief on the children’s faces when they received a fun pillowcase to keep was magical.

A little girl didn’t want to ‘risk’ putting the pillowcase on a hospital pillow as she thought it would become the hospital’s pillowcase and no way was she leaving the monsters behind!

It didn’t matter how much her mum reassured her they were indeed going home she wasn’t going to ‘risk’ anything. So she held her new pillowcase tightly during her entire treatment.

My blood test results are excellent! The recent iron infusion made a huge difference and I have no more headaches or dizziness.

I have been busy packing pillowcases for hospitals and they will be collected next week.

Thank you to everyone that helps me create smiles for sick kids. To see the smiles on sick children’s faces is the reason why I do what I do.
