Lots of movements have come and gone. Some are still ongoing. One that has moved me to write is the protests in Iran.
I wear a hijab. And I love it. It is a part of me. It is part of my personality. But it was something “I chose myself” to wear! My dad was against it but I defied him and wore it and have stuck to it all these years. I love my hijab BUT I am against it being forced on anyone!
Faith is so personal. It has to come from within a person to follow a belief. It can’t be forced. I will not say that my journey to wear a scarf has been easy it was very difficult. I used to feel hot didn’t know how to carry all that fabric. Always felt I couldn’t style it with my clothes. Couldn’t wear earrings. Had to let it go of styling my hair. But I embraced it MYSELF!
You can not force someone to wear something they aren’t comfortable with. State and religion should be separate. I don’t think forcing women to wear the hijab will make Allah happy. Please respect women who wear it and also who don’t. You can be an awesome Muslim and not wear a hijab. And at the same time be a horrible person but wear the hijab. Please please understand forcing women to wear the hijab will not help anything. They might wear it but not love it. Some might not even respect the beauty of it. But then why force it?
Religion is personal! Live and let live!
