Finally!!! This has turned out beautifully (if not a bit smaller than I anticipated). This is the third iteration. Swipe for attempts one and two.

I am such a sucker for yarns (or at least those that fade from one colour to another - yarns that just bluntly change colour frustrate me immensely!) So I had five balls of yarn in two ( and boardwalk ) that I’d found partially unravelled at and I just started them in a V-stitch pattern and it looked really pretty! Problem was that I’d started with the Boardwalk colourway (swipe to slide 2) and I only had two of that one, so I it and started again with the Harvest Moon (slides 3 and 4). I loved it but I still wasn’t quite feeling it. Then the amazing posted her super pretty happyhearts so I asked her for the pattern link, frogged it again (check out the second to last slide for the massive ball of yarn that I ended up with!) and started again, again.

I love the feel that the puffstitch give this blanket (or kneerug really) come to think of it, see the last slide for a closeup so you can really see the texture of the puff stitch. Of course mine doesn’t look quite as polished as does but the look (from a distance) is still pretty cute.

I edged it using a ModaVera yarn, again from Spotlight, called Mawson which is an acrylic/wool/alpaca blend in a charcoal-ish grey colourway (80347734 if you need the details) And it took nearly every mm of the 50g ball. I loosely followed the instructions from DaisyCottageDesigns for the edging, without the colour changes she had included.

I have just had the most beautiful experience at with the amazing Carol from Carol’s micro macrame. It is such a shame that she’s not online, but I guess that it means she can stock up her gorgeous items between markets. She is a really beautiful soul and if you miss her today, she tells me she’ll be back for the Easter market.
