Hi guys, so I wanted to create a series of tips to share with you on the best way to complete your memory book to make sure you are getting the most out of it.
I believe my first tip is the most important, and that is to ‘Make Notes’ as you go.
If your baby completes a new milestone, or your toddler does something funny, don’t rely on your memory to add this to your book at a later date.
Life is busy and if it’s a few months before you get a chance to sit down and write in your book, chances are you will have already forgotten most of the details.
So keep a notepad in a convenient place, or create a list of notes on your phone, whatever works for you so that you can write down the event straight away.
For me personally, I just kept a Word doc on my desktop because I always have my computer on, so when something happened or my son reached a new milestone, I could record these details in a bullet point list and write it into my book when I had more time.
This method worked extremely well and I can’t imagine how many things I would have forgotten because there was a period of three months or more where I didn’t write in my book at all and looking back at my notes was a huge help!
So if you have just purchased yourself a memory book, get a list going in your preferred format and you will thank yourself later!
