The Golden Grin Award will be returning for 2026!
The Golden Grin will be awarded to the picture book that brings the biggest grin to a little one's face.
I believe that funny picture books play a massive role in encouraging kids to read. The books that make kids laugh the most are often the most memorable for them and ones they will go back to again and again.
However, making a funny book is NOT easy! Therefore, The Golden Grin Award recognises the expertise and craftsmanship of this genre.
Last year took the inaugural award for his hilarious picture book Baa Baa Black Belt: Fleece of Fury. But who will win this year?

We are looking for picture books by Australian creators that have been published in the last year (Since September 2025) or will be published before September 2026.
