We’re back with another juicy FRIDAY DROP and another self-titled LP for our pick of the week: it’s the 2025 sophomore album from RACING MOUNT PLEASANT!

If you are a fan of Black Country, New Road or anything else coming out of the Windmill Scene, you are bound to get something out of this album. This slow-paced, jazzy art rock project is packed with incredible instrumental progressions and beautiful lyrics that are steeped in deep love, insecurities and everything else you could expect to find in a chamber-folk indie rock project. This one seems to sell the instant it comes in, so do your best to get your hands on it ASAP!

Also fresh this week is Phoebe Bridgers’ new and acclaimed album Lost Weekend, Australian trio DMA’s self-titled fifth album (with limited signed prints!), the New KATSEYE release WILD, Jorja Smith’s latest album What Are The Odds, as well as Queen’s iconic performance Live At Wembley ’86 as a 3LP in slipcase, some soundtracks including Helluva Boss Season Two Soundtrack, 3 volumes to the anime Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and plenty more. Who is Rising Sound? Part 2.
Meet Mo Johanna aka Siân. Our CEO and Co-founder. Siân and Jon Elbery started Rising Sound (formerly Blue Arts Fly) back in 2019.
Siân started her musical career a little later in life at the age of 35 but it was all “go” from there.
Siân played with Jon in a couple of long running bands in the Perth Hills. She started up Ladybird MUSIC which was a business comprising of recording, tuition, promotion and events. Siân got fed up driving down the hill to go see cool bands play so decided to bring a little life to hills. She started with “Live at the Kala”, monthly lineups at the Kala Hotel that honestly, went off! There was a Summer Sundowner at Araluen, Live at the Spire. The list went on and on but Siân wanted more for the artists. Better pay. Bigger opportunities. So, with a big help from Jon, Rising Sound was born.
She now curates the Saturday Sessions at Midland Records, and Rising Sound Sessions and has a bunch of other crazy/cool ideas in the pipeline.
Siân continues to buzz with passion and loves being on the ground, making music happen.

Our pick for this FRIDAY DROP is drenched in wintery inner-city vibes - the self-titled 2023 album from Melbourne's ACOPIA.

If you’re into the likes of Cocteau Twins and The Radio Dept., then you’ll love what this Aussie, electronic dream-pop trio have done with this album. Their second LP feels like a great leap forward, taking the band's sound in a darker direction while still complimenting the atmosphere that made their debut so unique. If you dig the sound of some downtempo vibes, be sure to check this one out!

Finally off of preorder is Ariana Grande’s latest album Petal, as well as Ween’s reissue of 12 Golden Country Greats.
