As Plastic Free July comes to an end, our commitment to our oceans continues year round

For our pearl farms, the health of the marine environment is intrinsically linked to everything we do. Our pearls are grown at our Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm and Broken Bay Pearl Farm - and caring for the ecosystem that sustain them is part of our responsibility as pearl farmers.

From reducing plastic across our packaging and showroom displays, to choosing natural, reusable and long-lasting materials, we continue to look for practical ways to reduce our footprint across our farms, showrooms and everyday operations.

Plastic Free July may be one month, bu protecting the places our Saltwater pearls come from is an ongoing commitment.

A strand unlike any other 🤍

Created in celebration of 80 years of Australia's Pearling Pioneers, and where our journey began, our Mabe Pearl Strand brings together our Australian South Sea Mabe pearls in a piece that feels both timeless and distinctly different.

Each pearl reveals its own natural character, a reflection of the waters, shell and generations of pearling knowledge behind it.

A rare expression of our pearling heritage, designed to carry the story of Cygnet Bay from our farm to you.

There’s something special about sharing the world of pearls with the next generation. 🦪✨

We recently welcomed a group of students from Sacred Heart Primary School Highgate for a morning of pearl education, hosted by our pearl experts Penny and Steven. From learning about the history and evolution of Australian pearling to stepping into the role of a pearl grader, the students had the opportunity to see firsthand the skill, knowledge and care behind every pearl.

Education has always been an important part of what we do. By sharing the stories, expertise and traditions that have shaped our industry, we hope to build a deeper understanding of where pearls come from, how they are grown, and the people and places behind them.

A wonderful morning of curiosity, questions and hands-on learning, and a privilege to share a little of our world with such an enthusiastic group. 🤍 Thanks for joining us and we hope you enjoy your trip to Broome!

While you discover our pearls, you’ll likely notice what they’re displayed on.

This Plastic Free July, we’re celebrating the thoughtful details behind our showroom displays. Rather than relying on plastic fixtures, we’ve chosen natural, long-lasting materials that reflect the places our pearls come from.

From solid travertine tile raisers and handcrafted wooden signage to sustainably sourced coral and sea urchins, every element has been selected with intention. We also incorporate Mother of Pearl and from our own pearl farms, creating displays that tell the story of our pearls from ocean to showroom.

By investing in high-quality display pieces designed to last for years, rather than disposable plastic alternatives, we’re reducing waste while creating a more authentic experience for every visitor.

It’s a small detail that reflects a much bigger philosophy. Caring for the environments that nurture our pearls doesn’t stop at the farm. It influences every decision we make, right down to how we present them.

Inspired by the rhythm of the Kimberley tides at our Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm and the waterways of our Broken Bay Pearl Farm on the lower Hawkesbury, Ebb & Flow reflects the constant movement of our ocean farms.

Crafted with both our Australian South Sea and Akoya pearls, these ranges are a tribute to the environments that make our pearls possible.

This month, we're shining a light on our Seagrass Collection.

Inspired by their gentle movement, growing side by side our grown Australian Akoya pearls, our Seagrass Collection celebrates the beauty and importance of these underwater landscapes.

Seagrass meadows are among the world's most important marine ecosystems. They:
🐠 Provide habitats for countless species
✨Capture carbon
🌊 Improve water quality

A healthy marine environment is essential for our pearl farms to thrive, which is why we're celebrating this stunning range during Plastic Free July!

Did you know? 🤔💭

Did you know Australian South Sea pearls and Mother of Pearl have been independently certified by the Marine Stewardship Council? This is the world's first pearl fishery to earn this recognition.

Every pearl shell is hand-collected by divers working to strict limits on number and size, then cared for over years in the pristine waters of the Kimberley coast, home to our Australian South Sea pearl shell.

The Brown family were one of the first Australian-owned pearl farm in the country, and that legacy lives on through the Kimberley Marine Research Station located at our , to further promote truly independent research of the Kimberley coastal and marine region.

It all adds up to what we call provenance and purity, two virtues you can feel confident are behind every piece you gift and wear.

This is what makes an Australian pearl worth giving.

This Plastic Free July every small action has the power to create lasting change.

Our partnership with Take 3 is built on a shared belief that healthy oceans are worth protecting. Through our Take 3 Bracelet Collection, you can wear that commitment everyday while helping support one of Australia's leading environmental organisations dedicated to reducing plastic pollution. Each bracelet features our MSC certified Australian Mother of Pearl shell grown at our Bay Pearl Farm set alongside stunning, natural gemstones.

The message is simple - take 3 pieces of rubbish with you whenever you leave the beach, waterway or anywhere in nature. Small actions create meaningful change, and by choosing a Take 3 Bracelet, you're supporting a cleaner coastline and helping inspire conversations about protecting our shores.
