ROUND 3 SYDNEY MOTORSPORT PARK MUSCLE CAR MASTERS
AUG 28-30 – ENTERED JAMIE MARSHALL
A Sports Sedan newbie, with the help of his father Craig crewing, Jamie has jumped straight into the National Series this season reminding us of a certain Turtle about 3 years ago.
“Winton was the first race meeting in the car, we had a few challenges like the lower control arm mount malfunction [fixed with typical Sports Sedan community assistance led by Rohan Ambrose] and braking issues. SMSP we had gotten more pace out of the car, but we kept having clutch issues which ended up breaking a gearbox in Friday night practice. We were able to get another gearbox off a fellow competitor [Tim Meaden’s RX8/LS driven by Matt Thewliss] which had engine failure in practice and frantically got it fixed ahead of race 1, but missing qualifying. Unfortunately after race 2 we had a fuel cell failure which meant we couldn’t start race 3. We have been running a smaller tank than most of the others and are we are in the process of getting a bigger custom tank made for the limited space we have”.
If we actually had one, even at this early stage of the season, Jamie would be the favourite for the “Persist and Resist Award”.
