School mornings with a sensory kid can feel relentless.
The uniform that was fine yesterday suddenly isn’t. The shoes are wrong. The socks. The sound of the TV in the background. And you’re already running late and everyone’s nervous system is already at capacity before 8am.
Here’s the reframe I want you to hold onto: mornings don’t feel hard because your child is difficult. Your child feels difficult because mornings genuinely ARE hard for a nervous system that processes the world differently.
This reminder won’t magically fix the morning. But it can help you pause, take a breath, and lead with support instead of frustration.
And if school mornings are a daily battleground in your house — that’s not a parenting failure. It’s a sensory challenge that has real, practical solutions.
Comment MORNING below and I’ll send you my free OT guide to building a sensory-friendly morning routine. 💚
Save this for the next hard morning. You’re doing better than you think. 🐞
