Who else is over AI? I feel like at every corner we are being seduced into just giving it a try. I see my competitors advertising lamps and kits that can't possibly be made. Glossy rounded and cartoon like. It drives me mad!
I took this picture today a real lamp made by me photographed by me in my lounge room. It sits in front of a fabulous beaded artwork made by a beautiful staff member gifted to me one Christmas.
The crystal is from my sons collection and the jewelry is from Istanbul and we stock it in our store.
These are tangible things not stolen images not stolen memories manipulated into a over contrasted image free of dust, life and personality.
We need to embrace the real makers the real creatives.
Shopping and supporting your local business helps to keep the money in your community or at least in your own country.
And most importantly a real person got to drink that water while they practiced a labor of love - I will be forever grateful to have started my practice of art and craft way before this crazy age of AI.
The time to embrace handicrafts and the handmade is now. Learning a new skill made truly of your own hands is how we keep our dignity.
