Curious Spark Art

Curious Spark Art Handmade steam-punk and Boho-style jewellery using mostly minerals, glass, wood and leather. All hand worked, meaning I use hand held tools only.

I have a love of all things natural and how we can use and have been using them since the beginnings of civilisation. My love of beading and wire wrapping began years and years ago, BC (Before Children) and now in my 40s, whilst on my path to rediscovering my artistic side I decided to come back to this love of mine. On this page you will find jewellery pieces made of leather, glass, wood and mine

rals. You will find a lot of wire wrapped pieces, these are not meant to be uniform in design, it is all about free form work so each piece will have its own uniqueness. Because I use natural products there will always be a difference in each stone, each piece of leather etc, all this needs to be taken into consideration when purchasing an item. Wire wrapping is also a delicate piece of work, it is not for everyday wear and must be looked after, it should also not be worn with very delicate materials that may catch on any jewellery. I am able to post any where in Australia, and most countries. I am fine with pick up of items from my home as well, once a sale has been confirmed. I am able to take payment through direct deposits (but please bear in mind that payment takes a few days to clear), and if you wish to pay by PayPal just let me know and I'll send you the link. Wire wrapping is quite delicate and as with all products sometimes a weakness can develop in the wire, please contact me if this has occurred! Having said that, being delicate the item MUST be looked after, do NOT store the pendants amongst your other jewellery, keep it in a safe pouch so that there is no chance of it getting tangled amongst your everyday pieces. Should there be any problems with any of your jewellery pieces purchased through Avalon Creations do not hesitate to contact me so that I may assess the situation. Thank you, have a wonderful day! :)

One of the things I love about my job is the amount of beautiful people that I meet. Today I had the pleasure of meeting an incredibly forgiving, compassionate and highly intelligent woman who comes from a generation where individuality and consciousness was not always encouraged or understood by society.
She came into our session with so much enthusiasm and energy and this stunning red rose.
It was the last of the blooms in her garden, she said and she had hoped it would bring me a spark of joy. It did much more than that, it brought me hope.
A hope that the people out there, just like her, will also find the courage in a high maintenance world to share their joy, their love of life and their consciousness so that the balance can return.
So if you're a bubbly, optimistic, non judgemental little ray of sunshine, share it! Let that ray grow bigger and bigger until it covers the whole world because it should never be hidden! Make other people uncomfortable with it, push them outside of their comfort zone, let them find the message in that so that they too can start to live their best life.
Thankyou Carla for sharing your joy with me today. 🙌❤️

Apparently we, the human race, have lost the art of listening. I say we've actually lost the art of "hearing".
You can listen all you want but if you're not truly hearing what someone has to say, are you even listening to start with?
I recently "heard" something from someone that rocked my world to the core. I thought that I HAD been listening to them Well, I may have but I wasn't hearing what they were actually trying to say and if I had been hearing it at all, it would have caused far less grief on both sides.
The sad truth is neither of us had really heard what the other had been saying for years. Neither of us had heard without judgement, without ego.
This whole scenario is something that I hear again and again from clients. Communication, or lack of is always a major issue in relationships, but instead of just listening, try HEARING the person. Try also HEARING the messages your intuition, your gut, the earth sends you, instead of listening to your pride, your judgement and everyone else's expectations. I guarantee you'll survive if you want to, no matter what harsh truths may come out of it.
So you see, when I tell you to go home and HEAR those you're only listening to, it's because I've been there, I'm still there, because it's always a work in progress. If you can't hear, if you've tried and you're struggling you have a whole team ready to help!

Full steam ahead on work on a headpiece for a beautiful Beltane bride to be. Needless to say, the nails I had done at the weekend are completely trashed! 🤣

Helloooo!
Phew! It's been a crazy few months for this little black duck but in the best of ways folks! So much change, so much growth, so many little things finally achieved. Now, it's about to be the start of another adventure that I will let you all know about next week. Today though I want to share something with you.

So last night my 16 year old (last one at school! I hear you cheering up the back there mums and dads in the same boat! Woohoo!), anyway 16 yr old has a look in her eye when she's about to ask me for something and I knew what she was going to ask, so I jumped in quickly and said "you're catching the bus in the morning", much to her chagrin. Funny huh? Except, joke's on me because when it came time to get to the bus stop this morning it was blowing a gale and bucketing and no umbrella was going to survive past the driveway.

Of course by the time we got in the car to drop her off at school, an hour later, the sun was out! Like I said, joke's on me!
I had just finished sending hubby a text laughing about this when reality hit.

I am so damn privileged to be able to have a car, to be able to afford the diesel to run it, to be able to afford the servicing it needs, to be able to live in a country where my gender doesn't dictate whether I can drive or not.

I am lucky to have the time to devote to her, to dictate the hours that I work or don't work, I am lucky that I don't have to say "no" to her so that we can afford to survive another week.

So whether or not our drive to school this morning was done in silence, listening to some tunes, or whether we talked about what was troubling her or the revision she'll be doing during the holidays, the most important part is that I spent an extra 10 minutes with her today. I got the chance to let her know that she's loved, appreciated and so bloody special to everyone in her life.

Thank you Universe for giving me the chance to understand that and to see what a gift it actually is.

What gift from the Universe are you grateful for today?

A blessed Samhain.

The warmest of Summer Solstice blessings to you all!

What an incredibly auspicious day today is! Take the time to remember how your ancestors have been celebrating this day since the dawn of our physical time on this planet. Take the time to perhaps research what the solstice meant then and means even today. Talk to your energy today, feel it, treasure it, nurture it by grounding yourself in the gifts that our formidable star Solis gives to us.

There is also so much meaning in the astronomical conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn tonight, while the conjunction happens every 20 years they only seem as close in the sky, as they will tonight, approximately every 400 years.
There are so many astrological beliefs surrounding the role Saturn has been playing and now with the conjunction coupled with the summer solstice it means MAJOR change is possible. I'm talking BIG! Global, humanitarian scale!

So help the planet out! Help yourselves and your fellow beings out! Get out, get grounded and meditate upon the changes coming, it is a gift from the Universe this blessed opportunity for us all to combine our energy to creating a new world, so grab it, not with your hands but with your whole energy!

You are all, every single one of you, an incredibly important piece of this universe. What you put out, you'll receive and create. Today, be thankful, be giving, be peaceful and let the rest of the Universe know how grateful you are to be that piece of star dust!

Blessed be! ❤️❤️❤️

Sometimes we need reminding that we shouldn't wait for recognition, that we don't need recognition to live life to the fullest. However, at other times it helps to settle those doubts about ourselves that we haven't quite silenced yet!
My 15 year old learnt that valuable lesson today when this sketch of her wendigo, drawn from memory from a dream she had, amassed hundreds of positive reactions from strangers around the globe.
See, she questions whether her art can truly sell, whether everyone is going to like it. Here's the lesson she learnt by being shoved into the spotlight, so to speak:
for every single negative there will be far more positives in life, for every person who doesn't like your creations, a hundred more might just love them, you just have to trust the universe. Open yourselves up for those gifts! Nothing positive is going to come your way if you're not willing to receive it.
