At DB King Designs, each pen is more than a writing instrument — it’s a piece of craftsmanship, character, and quiet rebellion against the fast and forgettable.
Our pens are meticulously handcrafted from exotic and often rare Australian hardwoods — from richly burled Red Mallee and York Gum to the striking textures of Needlewood and Wandoo. Each piece of timber is hand-selected for its grain, story, and resilience — qualities that mirror the essence of its maker and the person who chooses to carry it.
These woods aren’t just beautiful — they’re survivors. Many come from wind-felled trees, sustainably sourced offcuts, or salvaged pieces steeped in age and weather. Some even hold royal provenance, like English Cherry and Chestnut harvested from King Charles III’s estate, brought to life again in the form of a pen that will outlast trends and time.
Every DB King pen is turned slowly, with care and purpose — often late at night in a quiet workshop, where the noise of the day gives way to the hum of thought and timber. It’s where craftsmanship meets reflection — a therapeutic space for the mind to focus, for hands to shape meaning from rawness.
