The busier my life has become, the more important my crochet has become.

That probably sounds backwards.

Over the past few weeks my work days have become longer. My new role has brought new challenges, more decisions and the more than occasional late finish.

A few years ago, crochet would probably have been the first thing to disappear when life became busy.

Instead, I’ve found myself protecting that time even more.

Not because I suddenly have more spare time.

Because I need it.

Even twenty minutes with my hook in my hands helps me leave work behind. It gives my mind somewhere else to go. Somewhere quieter.

I’ve realised crochet isn’t something I do once everything else is finished.

It’s one of the things that helps me show up better for everything else.

That’s why I believe crochet belongs in real life.

Not just on weekends.

Not just when life settles down.

Now, while life is happening.
