One of the biggest changes in my own crochet came when I stopped looking at a finished project and assuming it required some mysterious level of talent I didn’t have.

Most complicated-looking crochet is still made from stitches you can learn.

The difference is being able to look at a pattern and break it down.

What stitch am I doing?

Where am I putting it?

What repeats?

What changes?

That’s why learning to understand patterns matters so much to me.

Not so you can become a “better” crocheter for anyone else.

So you can look at something you love and think:

I reckon I could work that out.
