Pemberton’s iconic Gloucester Tree has reopened for climbingπŸŒ³πŸ§—

The tree was closed three years ago due to safety concerns, and has now reopened with a new 37-metre-high lookout in the forest canopy.

At the top, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the Gloucester National Park 😍

Although the new platform is much lower than the previous 67 metres, it still feels pretty high if you’re afraid of heights 🫣

People have been climbing the Gloucester Tree for more than 50 years, which was originally a lookout tree and tower for spotting bushfires from 1942.

If you’re brave enough to tackle the climb, wear enclosed, sturdy shoes and secure loose items and personal belongings before you ascend.

For those feeling extra adventurous, Aerial Adventure Pemberton | Western Australia offers high ropes courses and ziplines through the towering karri forest right next to the Gloucester Tree 🌳

Spend the weekend exploring Pemberton and stay at RAC Parks And Resorts Karri Valley.
