Ever wondered what happens to a French oak w**e barrel when the w**e is gone?

In Terry’s shed, its story is only just beginning.

Spending time with Terry meant getting to see the whole process through his eyes — taking each barrel apart, sanding the oak back, oiling, drilling and finally adding his iron brand.

There’s something pretty special about watching Terry work. No big production, just years of skill, a well-used shed and his own way of turning something that’s already lived one life into something completely unique.

With Father’s Day this Sunday, it felt like the perfect time to share Terry and his story — one of the talented local men behind the pieces you see in our shop. 🤎

Meet Michelle - the maker behind some of our bestselling scents. 🤍

There was something so special about being welcomed into Michelle’s home, watching her put on her apron and get to work right there at the kitchen bench - mixing, pouring and creating the candles and reed diffusers so many of you love.

No fancy studio. No big production line. Just a sun-warmed kitchen, years of experience and a maker who knows her craft.

These are the moments we love most about our supplier visits. Being invited into the spaces where our products actually come to life and getting to share a little of that story with you.

Because sometimes, something really special starts at a kitchen bench. 🤍

We got to see firsthand how every w**e barrel can find a new lease on life once it reaches Terry’s shed. Getting transformed through craftsmanship, character and a whole lot of Hunter Valley soul.

There’s something equally special about what happens around Michelle’s kitchen bench. With the warmth of home as her backdrop, she creates candles and scents that bring a sense of calm, comfort and peacefulness into every space. Proving that some of the best things made on the stove don’t have to be eaten.
