We've been talking about doing this for a long time.

Yesterday, we saw a post from someone who had recently moved to Port Macquarie asking where they could find art & culture. Our creative community is here. It's vibrant. It's welcoming. But if you don't already know where to look, it can be hard to find.

So, rather than waiting until everything was perfect with this little side quest of ours, we decided it was time to just hit publish. So without any lead up or hinted posts, we've launched the first version of our Creative Noticeboard on our website.

It's not finished, and it will it continue to grow.
Our goal is simple: create one place where anyone can discover what's happening across our region's creative community. This isn't about promoting Sunset. It's about promoting creativity throughout our region. We'll happily do the heavy lifting of keeping the page updated and making these events easier to find online, but we will need your help.

If you're running an event...
If your group meets regularly...
If your gallery has an exhibition coming up...
If you know about something wonderful that deserves more eyes on it...

Then please let us know about it, we have always shared info in the gallery via flyers and business cards however it is time we took this digital version public and out of our "project pile".

Our creative community deserves to be seen, and we hope this becomes a resource that benefits our whole community.

Because the more visible our creative scene becomes, the stronger it becomes and as anyone close to us knows I am forever saying "togther we are stronger" and we mean that.

Please take a look at the Creative Noticeboard and let us know what you'd love to see added, give us any feedback (just remember we know its not yet perfect but it is a start).

~ Now Open Sundays ~

Our gallery and picture framing showroom are open Sundays.

Like many small businesses at the moment, we are making changes to do what we can to be as available as possible for our clients, meet our commitments and... wait for it... “pivot” with changes in shopping climates and habits. Every business has nightmares about that word post the “C” era. 😂

To be fair and honest, we made this change months ago, as our industry has been impacted by changes in discretionary spending for a few years now. Our arts community has been pushing the redline for quite a while, and so we do what we do, as best we can, to support both our clients and our suppliers, the artists.

If you’re looking for a relaxing and arty spot with a twist of funky tunes and décor, we invite you to drop by on a Sunday. Read a creative magazine in one of our lounge areas, grab a book from our arts library and find a cosy spot to sit and inspire yourself, browse local art and photography, select a record and get your groove on while chilling out, or bring in your journal and have a sketch or scribble.

While you’re here, return the love by checking in on socials, looking up and following some of the artists on the walls, or, if you know someone who needs a custom framing quote, bring them in or send them this post so they know we’re available on Sundays for obligation-free quotes.

And if you’re busy mowing the lawn, taking the kids to soccer or heading to a family lunch, that’s okay too. We also have an online version of the gallery hitting the website really soon, with the first addition already live, our virtual framing tool. You can find it on the website, with a cheeky link below to make it easier if you’re curious or simply need the convenience.

Why do we do we hours, days, months preparing for Artwalk?

Family - Joy - Memories

We adore seeing everyone get into the space, have fun and play along. The absolute best is when we see parents joining in and making memories with their kids.

Can you just imagine the core memories that get made on Artwalk night, parents enjoying and engaging in the activations along with their children. So good!

Another thing we love is when groups of adults come through and get creative, the last group that came through had fun with shadows and perspective- see if you can spot the cheeky kiss 💋

Wow! Can you believe its the eve of being a month since ..we can'tbelieveit at all!!

So much has taken place since then, business awards, and of course the EOF year, then just normal trade that keeps us busy as it is.

We realised that we've not shared any of the moments and memories of Artwalk so this is the first of maybe a handful of special elements from our Artwalk evening.

Huge shout out to Blokes Notes for the incredible flash mob moment, you absolutely made our night, everyone who was lucky enough to be passing was entertained and delighted.

Massive thanks to El for the use of the space and the fantastic supportive businesses who give ylup their parking space early so we can set up, ypur all incredible and we are so grateful for your support of this community event.
