Thank-you to everyone who snapped up the bargain, coloured Merino top. I'll be sending off the last lot today. In case you're wondering why the post has disappeared: I deleted it so as not to give the impression that wool top from Nundle Woollen Mill is at risk of damage. Nick has assured me that this was a one-off incident and that they have improved processes to ensure it never happens again. I would like to add that I have been buying tops and yarns from Nundle for many years now and all except this one roll have been perfect. Nundle Woollen Mill's stock, staff and excellent service are impeccable.

Hey knitters, I'm having a clearing sale of all the remaining Woolganic Knitters' yarns that I have in stock! (Sadly Australian Organic Wool has closed down.) I have reduced these limited yarns from $10.00/50g to $7.50/50g - the pics show all the 8ply yarns I have left. I also have some 4ply in Chilli Pepper (red), Krishna (pale blue), Kundalini (purple) and Kyoto (lime green). Let me know if you'd like some organic goodness. They are beautiful 100% wool yarns and are a delight to knit.

Thought I'd share some pics of my latest knits. These are all knitted in Nundle's Chaffey 12ply. The two-tone beanie and the ear-warmer/cowl are in French Rose which is a new colour in the range, as is the plaited headband in Lagoon. I've just received more yarns from Nundle, including four more new colours: Mandarin, Blue Gum, Violet and Lilac. You'll be able to see all these plus more hand-dyed yarns at Hamilton Sheepvention on 2nd and 3rd August!

P.S. Wishing all our Sheep & Wool Show friends a great weekend at Bendigo. Wish we could still be joining you to share in the fun!

I just opened the last box of Silk Dream 8ply yarn! Box 29! 11kgs more to dye and that's the end of the 8ply.
I still have two boxes of Silky Wool 4ply (optim wool with no silk) unopened, and more undyed 4ply Silk Dream on the shelves.
I had these yarns spun by Design Spun in New Zealand about 16 years ago and have been working gradually through the stock ever since, re-skeining, dyeing and repacking.
All being well, I'll have lots of 4 and 8ply available at Hamilton Sheepvention on 2nd and 3rd August. Get it while it lasts!

I'd just like to share some pics of recent and on-going projects. The chain-cable ear-warmer headband is my design and I've made several; I've discovered I can get two pairs of ladies' sized mittens from 1 x 100g skein of Serendipity hand-dyed 8ply yarn. Georgie dyed the 'Polar Ice' (blue and white) yarn and possibly the multi-colour too, I've forgotten, but they were both fun to knit up. Two skeins of sock yarn hand-dyed in 'Camo' - a bit of an experiment that I think turned out OK, and the 'Party Time' 8ply Sparkle is just so sweet - I sold both skeins of the Sparkle today so I really must dye more in this colourway! The take-away Coffee Cosies are all cotton or cotton/acrylic blend so are easy to wash. I crochet them when I want something to do between projects. They are great for keeping hot coffee hot and protecting your hands when holding hot coffee in take-away cups. I sell them for $5 each and all funds raised go to Kids' Playcentre, Cafe and Clothing Exchange in Portland, where I volunteer. There are more cosies for sale in the Cafe.

Well, sadly I didn't get to Yulecart for the Hamilton Wool & Craft Guild's Open Day - I came down with an awful cold that weekend, my head felt like a brick and I had zero energy. I hope the day was successful for the Guild and all who attended, I was really sorry to miss it. I've been doing more dyeing and I'll have more pics to post soon. I've also been knitting mittens and crocheting poppies for Anzac Day in answer to a request from a local lady

I've been doing some more dyeing while the weather is warm and I can put the yarns in car to set the dye! My grand-daughter Georgie has dyed three skeins of 'Sparkle Yarns' (pictured) and I plan to do more of these while the weather's warm 'cos I can't microwave them due to the metal content. Also three lots of Silk Dream semi-solid colours.

It’s new. It’s luxurious. It’s incredibly soft. The Nundle Brushed Alpaca Merino Silk 4 Ply yarn is a luxurious blend of 65% Baby Alpaca, 20% Merino wool and 15% Silk, creating a beautifully soft yarn with a gentle halo and elegant drape. Lightweight yet warm, this yarn is perfect for delicate garments and accessories that feel as good as they look.

The brushed finish enhances the natural softness of the fibres, while the silk adds subtle sheen and strength. Ideal for shawls, scarves, wraps, lightweight jumpers and special pieces where texture and softness are key.

Sold in 50g hanks. Find it in our online store.
