Well it looks like winter is nearly here! Time to get out the knitting needles and crochet hooks, snuggle up with some squishy new yarns and enjoy creating your new projects! I have some more pics of hand-dyed goodies to tempt you! More comments with the pics.

Well, sadly I didn't get to Yulecart for the Hamilton Wool & Craft Guild's Open Day - I came down with an awful cold that weekend, my head felt like a brick and I had zero energy. I hope the day was successful for the Guild and all who attended, I was really sorry to miss it. I've been doing more dyeing and I'll have more pics to post soon. I've also been knitting mittens and crocheting poppies for Anzac Day in answer to a request from a local lady

New stocks of lovely, supersoft and squishy Superfine Merino top - 17.5 micron, have just hit the shelves! Also more Fine Merino - 22 micron top! Shiloh Wool will be at the Hamilton Wool & Craft Guild's Open Day at the Yulecart Hall this coming Sunday 22nd March. If you're in the area come and say hello and squish some fluff!

I've been doing some more dyeing while the weather is warm and I can put the yarns in car to set the dye! My grand-daughter Georgie has dyed three skeins of 'Sparkle Yarns' (pictured) and I plan to do more of these while the weather's warm 'cos I can't microwave them due to the metal content. Also three lots of Silk Dream semi-solid colours.

I'm working on re-skirting the fleeces and preparing them to go to their new homes! Five done, five to go! Oh no, make that six to go - I remembered I have a pale grey crossbred fleece that my daughter gave me from her flock! I also have lovely soft, chocolate brown lambswool. It is quite short in staple but would be OK for spinning (if carded) or felting or wool art.

I finally had some time to class the fleeces! Only 10 sadly, the 11th is a lamb fleece. I won't have time to re-skirt, bag, weigh and price fleeces this side of Christmas but I'm happy to take orders. As always it's first in first served. Here are the pics and info. Merry Woolly Christmas! - Jenni
Reminder: I won't be posting to the US this year. Two reasons: the tariffs complicate things and I'm tired of having fleeces stolen in transit. (I don't trust the USPS.)

Shearing done for 2025! Only 11 sheep this year. Sadly our only white ewe died unexpectedly last week so we only have three black fleeces, six brown and one brown lamb's fleece. I'm going to take my time classing, re-skirting and weighing the fleeces. I may divide them all in half as they are all big fleeces. I'll post pics when they are all prepared for sale. I have decided not to post fleeces to the US this year. Two reasons: 1. the tariffs and 2. the experience of having two separate shipments broken into last year and fleeces stolen. That was not the first time the I've had bags of fleece 'go missing' in the US, it was just the last straw! My apologies to my US customers. I may re-think it in the new year after the Christmas rush!

Spinning wheel renovation in progress! This Ashford Traddie has been in pieces in a box, some pieces sanded, some not, for several years! Recently I finished the sanding, coated with a lovely beeswax furniture polish and started re-assembling. Unlike Ikea furniture it didn't come with instructions so I've been checking my current traddie to make sure I'm putting things in the right places! Just need a couple of washers, a drive band and a second tension k**b and she should be ready for work! Maybe then I'll get started on the other three wheels that need renovation and repair!

ETA: I ordered the accessories I needed from in Terang, who are Ashford agents. These parts were promptly delivered and this wheel has been sold.

I've taken apart the next wheel, also an Ashford Traditional, and a lovely handyman from church is currently repairing the wheel hub for me. It was coming apart badly. So now to get sanding again.....!

Nundle is a lovely little town, very picturesque, very friendly and surprisingly lots to see and do for kids as well! Can't speak highly enough of Nick and Kylie and Nundle Woollen Mill. My family and I had a fabulous time when we visited in May '25! I also bought lots of yarns for Shiloh Wool!

I intended to add photos when I posted from Hamilton Sheepvention but didn't get round to it, so here they are now. We had a great two days and met lots of lovely people - it's always fun at Sheepvention! Very tiring though and I wouldn't have been able to do it without the help of my two fabulous daughters, Melodi and Naomi, and my smart, sassy granddaughter Georgie. Hope you enjoy these little snapshots of our Shiloh Wool stand. The beanies and headbands include some of Naomi's Tunisian-crochet work as well.
