It just goes to show, measure twice cut once... you always need to check information you are provided twice, or even three times.

A Message from John

As we move into May, I wanted to share a personal update with our wonderful community of wargamers, historians, and partners.

After taking some necessary time away to navigate the loss of Renaye, I am officially back in the business full-time, heading up our operations and communications.

First and foremost, I want to extend a massive thank you to the friends, family, and our dedicated staff member who stepped up to keep the orders flowing and the shop running smoothly. Because of their hard work, the business remained steady during an incredibly difficult period.

While the day-to-day remained "business as usual," I am now turning my focus toward the future of Khaki & Green. Over the coming weeks, I will be catching up on all executive-level communications and strategic planning, including:

Sponsorships & Events: Reviewing our support for the Australian wargaming scene and upcoming community events.

Supplier Partnerships: Reconnecting with our strategic partners to ensure we continue bringing you the best range of books and hobby supplies.

Product Development: Assessing our inventory needs and sourcing new, exciting additions for the shop.

It has been an incredibly tough journey, but we have used this time to restructure and ensure that Khaki & Green remains a leader in the Australian market. We are more committed than ever to honouring Renaye’s legacy by providing the high-quality service and expertise you’ve come to expect from us.

Thank you for your loyalty, your patience, and your kind words over the past few months. I’m looking forward to catching up with many of you very soon.

A Heartbreaking Update from the Khaki Green Team

It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we share some very difficult news with our community.

In January, our dear Renaye was suddenly taken unwell. Following a brave fight against a recently discovered tumour, this morning she unexpectedly passed away due to complications during her treatment.

As many of you know, Renaye was one of the absolute pillars of Khaki & Green Books. She wasn't just a wife to John and a partner in the business; she was the engine, the heart, and the steady hand that helped build this shop into what it is today.

To say we are heartbroken is an understatement.

John is currently navigating a level of shock and grief that is impossible to put into words.

Moving Forward with John & Renaye’s Vision

Renaye was incredibly proud of the successful, close-knit community we’ve built here in the Australian wargaming scene.

Out of deep respect for her memory and in accordance with her wishes:
• Business Will Continue: We are committed to keeping the wheels turning. Renaye loved this business, and we intend to honor her legacy by continuing to serve the hobby she cared so much about. There is an unfinished Rubicon Schwimmwagen on her bench 😞

• Support System: Family and friends are stepping in to assist us during this time to ensure that orders and operations remain steady.

• A Request for Patience: We ask for your compassion and understanding over the coming weeks. While we will be back to full business shortly, things may move just a little slower as we find our footing without our "rock."

We know the wargaming community is a tight-knit one, and we thank you in advance for your kindness toward John and the family during this devastating time.

Rest in peace, Renaye. You are missed beyond measure
