How could we not share • Telha Clarke • Daylesford Hill House

Partially embedded into the hill, the house adopts a low-profile form that recedes into the landscape, its stepped organisation a direct response to the site’s natural topography. Drawing from regional shed and rural typologies, entry occurs from the street via a bridge. The dark external materiality and recessed threshold contrast with a more porous internal condition, revealing framed views to landscape beyond and a spatially rich interior palette.

An outdoor shower with a solid basalt base surrounded by planting was incorporated for contrast therapy.

With garden surrounding three sides of the studio and large expanses of glazing, the connection to nature is strengthened.
