Happy Belated Halloween from the Sustainably Sweet Co! We hope you had a Spooktacular Day and got more Treats than Tricks! 🎃🎃🎃

We had a wildly successful day handing out 300 bags of our Satanically Sour & Summer Fruits lollies to all of the frighteningly scary Trick or Treaters that stopped by 🍬

The aim of our game is to reduce the amount of individually plastic wrapped treats that contain palm oil being given out to the kiddies on Halloween night. Our delicious lollies are palm oil free and all packaging is 100% home compostable! Let the little ones have their Halloween Treats with minimal impact on our beautiful Mother Earth 🌏

The war on plastic. This is one of the main reasons that I started this business. We can still have the things we want, need and love - but we just need to do it in a more mindful way 🌏

When you live on the Mornington Peninsula and visit the beaches often, you'll know what it's like. We often stop and pick up other people's rubbish off the beach or the pier so that it doesn't end up in the ocean. It's not fair, it's not our mess - but if we walk by it like everyone else does, this is where it will end up. We enjoy visiting our shorelines all year round, and so, we try our best to take care of it ✌ will you join us on our mission to live more mindful and less wasteful lives?

I absolutely LOVE all things bright! Rainbows are my thing, the more colours, the merrier in my opinion! But unfortunately, there is a more serious meaning to this post.

One of the reasons that I came up with the idea of the Sustainably Sweet Co was because of what is in this brightly coloured picture. Sweet wrappers.
Sweets come in a variety of different shapes, types and more often than not, in brightly coloured, unsustainable, non recyclable mixed plastic/paper/foil packaging.

I think back to the countless birthday parties, weddings and other events that I have either been to, or organised (yes, I'm VERY guilty 🙋‍♀) and shudder at the amount of plastic wrapped goodies that have been on offer. And all of these wrappers are either sitting in landfill somewhere nearby waiting to break down, in a third world country (did you know that the more wealthy, developed nations actually send rubbish to third world countries?!?) or just out there in the Environment somewhere. No matter which of the above options it falls into, it's having a negative impact on our beautiful Earth.

The way we move forward is to make more conscious decisions when purchasing treats for ourselves, our friends our our family. Plastic free options are the best ones 😉 all of our delicious sweets are completely plastic free - available in either recyclable or home compostable packaging!
