The TLSM eligibility expanded in April — and after more than two decades, it caught me out too. I'm now eligible for the medal myself.

I wanted an original-quality one. Not a replica. The closest thing to the medal I would have been issued if the criteria had been right at the time.

So I've commissioned a limited Australian-made run. Die-struck cupro-nickel to official specifications, Toye Kenning & Spencer ribbon. Indistinguishable from the officially issued medal.

My Foxhole family are the first to be offered the limited run, before I open it up to any ET or TL Veteran. Estimated dispatch Friday 18 June 2026.

Eligibility (updated April 2026): ADF, AFP, DCP, and personnel withdrawn through injury or medical necessity, with 30+ days on mandated Timor-Leste missions since June 1999.

A note for the Foxhole community on socials, posted early and just after a great ANZAC Day at my end.

First: thank you.

You, the customers who keep coming back to Foxhole over the years, who've sent their mates my way, who've written me notes and emails of appreciation, who've been patient through some genuinely hard stretches. You're the reason Foxhole is still here, and I don't say that often enough.

Why I'm posting now, twelve months out from ANZAC 2027:

Foxhole's had a couple of negative Google reviews in the last week from customers who ordered past last year's cutoff and weren't happy when the cutoff applied to them. I've responded to both on Google, and what's said is said.

The reason it's worth flagging here this far ahead is to give you a heads-up that next year I'm taking April off, and I don't want that to come as a surprise.

For ANZAC 2027: all ordering will cease once I've hit quota for completion and shipping by Friday 26 March, and ordering will reopen on Tuesday 27 April.

The quota is 20 x medal mounting orders. Once it's reached, the completion + shipping date rolls forward to the following Friday. The date is always advertised on the Foxhole website banner, so please keep an eye on it.

I’m at 18 June 2026 today, so there's still plenty of runway. But the people who've supported Foxhole longest deserve to see those dates first, and to see them with as much time to spare as possible.

It’s been a little while between posts — I’m really grateful for everyone’s patience while I’ve had my head down at the bench.

I had the absolute pleasure of looking after Sam Mairs again recently after he sent his set in for an update. His impressive set now features the:

• AOSM – Border Protection
• AOSM – Greater Middle East
• AOSM – Indo Pacific
• Defence Long Service Medal
• Australian Defence Medal

You’ll also spot the US Meritorious Unit Commendation (MUC) attached to his ribbon bar.

The AOSMs often spark confusion and debate — they’re the only Australian awards mounted specifically in the order they were earned (by qualifying service), rather than by PMKeyS-listed date or release date.

As the Director of Defence Honours & Awards, Ms Allison Augustine, explains: “As ADF members serve on different operations at different times, each medal set has the potential to look different. Think of the medal set telling a story of the person.”

If you’re an Australian Defence member posted in the US or its territories, you may be able to use an Australian diplomatic bag to receive your order — please check with your local officials first.

20 years of service. Countless stories honoured. A new chapter begins, but the commitment remains the same. Every medal, every story, every customer—it still matters just as much.

To my Foxhole Medals community,

For two decades, I’ve had the honour of helping you preserve and celebrate the stories of military and civil service. This business has always been about connection, trust, and excellence. Today, I want to share an important update about the future of Foxhole Medals.

After much thought, I’ve decided to restructure Foxhole Medals to prioritise my mental health and family. As a result, the business is now a one-person operation, and there are a few changes you should know about:

1. All enquiries will now be handled via email at [email protected]. Phone and text support will no longer be available.

2. I will personally manage all orders to ensure the same care and attention you’ve come to expect.

3. My focus will be on providing exceptional service to existing customers. All medals must be express posted to PO Box 494, Rosny Park TAS 7018, with a signature on delivery required for original medals. Drop-offs and pick-ups are no longer an option.

I’m sharing this openly because I value your trust and believe in transparency. These changes are necessary to continue serving you while ensuring sustainability for both myself and the business.

Thank you for your understanding and loyalty over the years—it has meant the world to me.
