They are the core values at the heart of our business which Allen Vater began in 1957. They are what he built this business on and are still instilled in us today. Allen, or AW as most knew him, was a sharefarmers son from Saddleworth. He started off buying chaff and grain from local farmers and carting it to the Riverland, bringing back wood and stumps to sell. From there he saw the opportunity i

n supplying goods to rural people who couldn’t easily get goods themselves. AW relied on his honesty and integrity, his word was his bond, and through his hard work and good relationships his business grew. We’re a family business owned and operated. It all began with Allen and Doris’s hard work and determination, which has carried on through their children. Now the third generation are keen and getting involved in the family business. Today we provide goods and services across all of South Australia’s agricultural landscape. Our main store is based in Saddleworth in the Mid North and we have a branch at Kadina on the Yorke Peninsula. We aim to be the quintessential ‘one-stop-shop’ for all your agricultural needs. It is by keeping in touch with you that helps us form the strong relationships that form the core of our business. We also like to show our support and give back to local communities groups and events. We know how busy people’s lives are today. We understand how precious your time is. This is why we are simplifying our processes wherever we can and make them most convenient for you. This is why we are now taking on a new approach to getting goods to you as best we can, such as delivery straight to you via our online store. An exciting milestone with the first purchaser of Marathon® in South Australia, Australia. 💚🌱

We're pleased to share the first purchase of Marathon® to grain grower Anthony from our long time customer AW Vater & Co in South Australia, following a recommendation by their agronomist Angus Faulkner.

Anthony and Angus selected Marathon® to target wild radish, as it was an appealing option due to the rates and compatibility with other tank-mix partners. Angus noted, "The product's flexibility allows me to tailor the recommendation depending on what weeds may be present."

This is a great example of the collaboration between our local ADAMA team, agronomists, and farmers supporting early adoption in the market. The first purchase marks an important milestone as we continue introducing Marathon® to Australian growers.
