Squid Total closure in Gulf Saint Vincent & Kangaroo Island and also in Spencer Gulf.
Garfish – Taking and possession will be prohibited in the Gulf St Vincent / Kangaroo Island fishing Zones.
King George Whiting – Spawning Closure in defined areas of Gulf St. Vincent / Kangaroo Island and Spencer Gulf Fishing Zones from 1st April – 31st July each year. Check the SA Fishing ap for more information.

Salmon – Port Noarlunga (60cm), (40-60cm) from the beaches to the south. Silver Sands, O’Sullivans, Maslin and Sellicks Beachs.
West lakes (northern end), North Haven & Outer Harbor breakwaters, Garden Island, North Arm and St Kilda.

Blue Crabs – Metro Jetties, Glenelg jetty to Largs jetty, Black pole, St Kilda grounds, North Haven, Semaphore reef, Star wreck, northern metro grounds and beaches. Return to normal limits
(20 bag/ 60 boat) Check sizes lots of undersize crabs

King George Whiting – O’S Brighton, West Beach, St Kilda, Black Pole grounds, Wirrina grounds, Somerton & Hallett Cove. Northern grounds have lots of undersize fish + Snapper.

Bream – St Kilda channel, West lakes, Port River, Pt Gawler, Outer Harbor Breakwater and Onkaparinga River (middle reaches)

Mullet – Sellicks, Moana, West Lakes, Garden Island and Port Noarlunga.

Mulloway – West lakes, The North Arm and Quarantine station. Onkaparinga lower reaches.

Goolwa cockles Closed season 1st June – 31st October

Blue Crabs - James Well, Port Clinton, Ardrossan, Port Vincent, Port Hughes, Wallaroo , Port Victoria, and Whyalla jetties.

King George whiting – Temporary spawning closure in a defined areas of Gulf St. Vincent / Kangaroo Island and Spencer Gulf Fishing Zones from 1st April – 31st July each year
Port Victoria, Edithburgh, Balgowan, Coopers, Port Vincent, Wallaroo, Port Hughs and Port Brougton.

Mulloway – Salt Creek, Glenelg River, Murray Mouth and Goolwa Beach (night). Snapper – must report Any catches SA Fishing app

Squid – Total closure in Gulf Saint Vincent & Kangaroo Island and also in Spencer Gulf.

Salmon – Berry Bay, Daly Head, Dust hole Beach, Browns Beach and Gleeson’s Landing.

Salmon trout – Murray Mouth, Salt creek, Waitpinga Beach, Parsons, Wallaroo & Point Riley. Port Vincent to Ardrossan

Tommies – Moonta Jetty, Cape Jervis, Second Valley and Rapid Bay.

Mullet – Rapid Bay, Morgans Beach, Goolwa channel & Murray Mouth. Marion Bay, Stansbury and around the foot of Yorkes Peninsula Tommies at Stenhouse bay most evenings.

Garfish – (Spencer Gulf is still ok) Point Turton, Port Broughton channel entrance area, Port Hughes Tiparra Light and Edithburgh.

Bluefin Tuna – Good sized fish from Beachport through to Vic. Border. Barrels east of Cape Jervis around “The Pages”
Big Boat territory.

Fresh water
Callop – Riverland locations incl. Moorook, Waikerie, Walker Flat, Morgan, Blanchetown and Swan Reach. Shrimps are still around and plenty of Scrub, Night crawlers and Tiger Worms available in store.

The Australian Salmon Fishing Championship in Elliston running from June 1st to August 31st
Between Sheringa and Mount Camel for cash prizes with the official weigh- in station at the Elliston Caravan Park.

The Kingston SE 48th Annual Surf Fishing Contest. On Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th January 2027. Over $20,000 worth of prizes to be won. Check their website for information.

Temporary jetty closures

What's happening?



In response to a Coastal Hazard Warning for the South Australian Coast, to keep everyone safe we are closing State owned jetties.

From 9am Tuesday 2 June 2026 the following jetties will be closed:

Henley Beach jetty
Grange jetty
Largs Bay jetty
Semaphore jetty
Brighton jetty
We will provide further notification once conditions improve and jetties are reopened.
