For Paris and Rachelle, the entrance was never intended to be simply a floral arrangement. It was designed as an introduction to the day, a sculptural moment that reflected the couple’s appreciation for thoughtful design and craftsmanship.
The custom plinths, designed and created by Paris, formed the foundation of the installation. Their rich green finish became an integral part of the composition, allowing the florals and structure to feel completely connected rather than existing as separate elements.
The floral design itself was inspired by traditional tatami weaving techniques. Carnations were woven throughout a framework of grasses, creating layers of texture, movement, and repetition. I was drawn to the idea of taking a flower often associated with softness and using it in a more architectural way. The result was something that felt both organic and highly considered, where every curve, fold, and woven detail contributed to the overall form.
What I loved most was the restraint of the palette. Green upon green, with moments of white woven through, allowing texture and shape to become the focal point. From a distance, the piece read almost as a sculpture. Up close, guests could discover the intricacy of the weaving and the individual decisions that brought it to life.
Placed at the entrance to Foundation Hall, it quietly set the tone for the celebration that followed, design-led, intentional, and deeply personal.
A particularly special wedding for us, and our final wedding alongside the incredible Honey Lane Events team. 🤍
