I think this PB Giant Trevally for paul nelms will take some beating. Won’t stop him trying…… Paul was on a recent trip to Hinchinbrook when he got this GT off the surface right next to the skiff. An absolute beast of a fish, took some wrestling to get him up for a photo too!!!! Well done Paul it’s definitely a fish of a lifetime mate. A small but critical update - things are happening 👏

Thanks to a recent announcement from TCC and Nick Dametto Mayor of Townsville to allocate funding to finalise ramp designs and continued support from Councillor Kristian Price - Division 4 and Natalie Marr MP we are looking to secure funding for the ramp shortly - we will keep you posted !

We have also made it into the formal consultation with Fisheries Queensland regarding access to the Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme - this secures our funding into the future to create a great fishery for our community and broader regional Queensland.

One of my favourite fish on the flats of Cocos Keeling and a very different looking critter. The Yellow Margin Trigger fish is a beast of an animal and by no means an easy target on the flats, often making it to some sort of nasty coral cover. Strong gear, tight drags and the ability to stalk and hunt are what will help you with these crazy reef flats critters. But…When it all comes together the beast can be beat!! 📸

Jordie’s first crack at the flats of Hinchinbrook island and he spotted this big girl feeding, tail in the air and happy as you would like. The flatscraft scruffy moon crab getting the nibble.
