Different voltages for target turning solenoids being catered for - 24V DC or AC, 12V DC or AC but not 240V - I still won't do that in timers. A separate relay box for that can be supplied though. For clubs with turners mounted on rails for varying range can now be catered for - just use a stand alone timer with remote switching system - receiver on each mover. The range of these is 10 times what is required and reliable!

For those clubs with a UHF remote controller - having trouble with accidental pressing of start button on side? You could try just cutting top off start button rubber cover so that start button sits flush with side - maybe easier than making button guard 😀

It has come to my attention that the timers can be difficult to use when it comes to programming mode - such as disabling matches. There has been instances that confusion has caused UHF units yo appear to be faulty due to inadvertent change to station number. The instructions are not clear to many RO's and I can't deny they are not all that good.

I am now working on cleaning up the programming mode to rectify these shortcomings. I am also putting all (known) matches for pistol and rifle in all programmers (for Australia and NZ) that have been requested. Adding and removing matches used by each club will be simple but all matches will be available in all timers. There are currently 55 matches but room for more than double that.

Any questions or comment please let me (Harry) know.

It seems that the UHF controller may on a very rare occasion not switch on by "START" button - if this happens, try the "STOP" button. I'm still trying to find the bug but it seems this is the solution anyway.

It seems some clubs are folding the aerial down on UHF recievers to fit them in a box. It was not intended for this to happen. Either remove aerial bracket to do this or get a bigger box See picture on what do do if you have a drropy aerial. If this is done enough, the aerial will have to be replaced!

There has been some changes to UHF controllers software. To stop operators from inadvertently changing the station number the button has to be held down for 2 seconds. Also, in matches that have the targets turn and face when STOP key is pressed - there has been an problem that targets reset when TIME/TARGET SEL. key is pressed. This has been corrected on UHF and Stand Alone timers. Software updating is free of charge.

A warning about the UHF remotes and the Key Fob remote for stand alone timers. They operate on 433.92MHz so if you have accessories such as certain weather stations, remote control relay boards, garage door openers or similar devices operating on this frequency there will be compatability issues. The range of these timers will be greatly reduced.

The website has been updated and now shows the 2 match lists available. One is for general matches and other is for SSAA combined services. Other lists will be created as need arises.

Zoran Simic from Serbia was visiting WA recently and took home a stand alone timer with key fob remote. The key fob remote uses a frequency same as the UHF system which is OK to use in most oversease counties (but not USA as is is an amature radio band).

The latest Stand Alone Target Timer is on its way to Beaconsfield, Victoria. The "Key Fob" remote start/stop appears to be the "must have" accessory.
