Client Spotlight: Leighton Lillie | Preventing Insanity
Seven rounds. Zero losses. And a World Series campaign already underway.
Conversations with Leighton began through existing work with myself and the Rogers Motorsport team. It was then in September 2025 during a trip to America, that conversations with Leighton Lillie, JRE and Pulse Race Boats turned serious. By the time we were on the plane back to Australia we had the green light and a full package was in motion 🤝
The plan was simple but ambitious. A complete JRE Pulse package to debut in Australia V8 Superboats at Keith in March 2026. So it was full steam ahead in the workshop. Along with the full package we designed and built a custom throttle hand control and steering wheel setup. This was a specific requirement needed and an example of how we can customise our full packages to our client needs.
The debut in Keith saw Leighton come out on top of the podium in first place and since then, Preventing Insanity hasn’t lost a race.
From there, the Preventing Insanity needed to be back in the US in time for the first American test round at the end of April 2026. That gave us three weeks to get it across the Pacific. We built a custom timber air freight crate, loaded the complete package and air freighted it to the US just in time for the round.
Leighton has seven consecutive round wins across two countries. He currently leads the ASBR Pro Racing Series Championship and has just taken out the 2026 Webb's Slough Championship with two rounds still to run in the ASBR Championship. 🏆🔥
The goal from the very first conversation with Leighton was never just to be competitive. It was to win the World Series in 2027. That’s still the plan. We’re already well into building a brand new engine for Leighton’s 2027 World Series campaign and if the last seven rounds are anything to go by, the rest of the field should be paying attention 👀
A brilliant driver, a great team around him and someone we’re incredibly proud to have in the JRE family. The best is still to come 🙌
