What an incredible year it’s been for the club. We’re proud to head into the 2025/26 season with over 150 financial members — a massive thank you to every member for your continued support.

Your ongoing support plays a vital role in the growth and success of the club, and we truly appreciate everything you do for us.

This year saw three new Australian/Queensland junior records proudly set by Whitsunday club members, along with loads of other incredible fish caught, tagged, and captured throughout the year.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe and happy Christmas with full bellies and great company. Please take care on the water over the festive period, and we’re looking forward to exciting times ahead for the club in 2026.

Good evening to all.

Just a heads up we have our annual “Barra bash” coming up in March. The dates are 22/23/24th and will take place up at the Peter Faust Dam.

More details to come but please if you want to be involved in the weekend let us know. Bob and Yvonne Spees (life members of the club) are making the accomadation arrangements with camp kanga so please drop Bob a call on 0417 115 855 for all the info.

There is nothing quite like the GBR. Big boats, big baits, big fish. This one my first “real one” as captain. Will never be forgotten. Great photo with the reef break in the back ground. Today I received the sad news of our UK client Ian Wray had passed. His fight with motor neurone disease finally came to an end. It’s sad because almost all my
Clients become life friends and Ian was certainly one of them. Tonight’s beers are to you my old English mate
