New to Cape , Gluggle Jugs.
Steeped in British history these onomatopoeically named gurgling water jugs were invented in the late 1870s by Thomas Forester & Sons but it was Dartmouth Pottery who first gave the jug its fish-shaped design.
A special pair was made for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in 1958 and presented during their visit to Britannia Naval College. The head of the college commissioned the jugs and provided them with the royal seal and date ultimately making the water jug an iconic collectors hard to find item.
We are thrilled to stock these beautiful jugs.
