Two weeks of school holidays start rolling through the village from this weekend, and there's more on than the usual quiet spring calendar lets on. Pirate Poppy and the Krazy Koala Puppet Show are taking over the Sorrento–Queenscliff ferry (free with your ticket), the Point Nepean Portsea Market is back on Saturday 26 September, and Polperro's dolphin and seal swims are running most mornings from the pier.
Prefer to set your own pace? Point Nepean's shuttle makes a self-guided day at the old Quarantine Station easy, hop on and off between the front entrance, the station buildings and Fort Nepean as the day suits you.
Add the back beach loop, the wildflowers coming up along Diggers Track, and a last outside chance at a whale from the lookout rotunda, and there's a fortnight's worth of village here without leaving the peninsula.
Which one's going on your list first: the ferry, the market, the dolphin swim, or a self-guided day at Point Nepean?
