Currently Freya has an amazing team of support to create the life she wants independently of me. I am invited to her second event to celebrate her birth. Our teeny tiny shop has been open for 10 years. In January 2026 I went back to Sri Lanka to enjoy a family holiday and visit some of the artisans who make our stock for the shop. Our gifts are handmade, thoughtful and support mostly women in their workplaces. It was an emotional trip for me. I last visited Sri Lanka, my father’s birthplace over 41 years ago. At that time I bought a girl mouse for my sister from barefootceylon Little did I know that similar mice would become one of our most loved gifts four decades later when I opened our shop at the Queensland Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane.
